3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 28, 2010 Bottle. Hazy reddish brown, large off-white head. Fruity and roasted malts, with loads of floral and piney hops. Medium bodied and smooth. A little too agressive bitterness for me.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy dark golden, large white head. Aroma of apricot, vanilla, citrus, strong dark caramel... quite sweet and wort-like. Flavour is citrus bitter, with some stonefruit esters and heavy caramel malt, nutty towards the finish too... which is otherwise long and bitter. A brilliant IPA.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to Boutip for this beer. Poured a hazy amber with a fizzy off-white head. Strong aroma of bitter grapefruit and pine needle hops. Flavor is somewhat less potent than the aroma, with notes of toffee, grapefruit rind, some earthy pine needles, leading to a dry, yeasty finish which is surprisingly mild and relatively devoid of hop flavor. A good IPA, but I was expecting even better from the aroma.

I love the hoppy style, and the Kjetil-taste. Dark Horizon from NØ is the best beer I´ve ever tasted; this one is so far the second best.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2012 In short: A fruity blond IPA with a resinous and yeasty character
How: Bottle 500ml, consumed fresh a few hours after purchase from a Norway Vinmonopolet store
The look: Partly cloudy shining golden blond body topped by a medium white head with good retention
In long: Nose is citrusy hops (grapefruits, mangos, grapefruits) and light notes of tropical fruits. Taste is oily biscuity and oily crackery malts, some wheaty sensation, strong yeast presence, citrusy, tropical fruits, even bananas, somewhat resinous, bitterness of medium intensity. Overall rather clean despite being more yeasty than usual for the style. Nourishing body, maybe a bit too much so for session purpose. The malt bill is as oily as a cyst on a teenager nose.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured an orangey color ale with a medium foamy head with average retention. Aroma of caramel malt and bitter hops is quite enjoyable. Taste was comprised of good balance mix between caramel malt and bitter slightly citrus hops. I thought this beer was well balance with a good malt base as with most of the offerings from this brewery.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle (500ml). Via trade with Boutip - thanks again, Phil!. Pours a slightly burnt orange, hazy, with an average off-white fizzy-creamy head. Smells like a mild, slightly grassy west coast-style IPA with the addition of clover and honey notes - slightly fruity. The taste is surprisingly mild - very flowery and berry-sweet, grassy hops, appreciable alcohol, it does get increasingly bitter as it warms, but I have to say the bitterness of their PA blew this one away - this one is well-rounded and solid though. Average, slightly sticky mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, slightly astringent, has a nice fruit/hop balanced linger to it. The underlying sophistication of this brew really came out for me by the end of the glass - really well done.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pinkish brown color. Peppery hoparoma with grapefruit and raspberry. Malty flavor with an oily peppery hopbitterness. Grapefruit, but also notes of malty sweetness. Well balanced in spite of the high hopgift. Long malty hopbitter citric aftertaste. Excellent!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The pour reveals a murky orange color with a medium, creamy beige head. Solid aroma of spicy, resinous and fruity hops with some caramel. As advertised by the aroma, the flavor has a crisp spicy and fruity hops with a good caramel malt backbone and a bitter finish. The body is light with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. Well done and entertaining.
