3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Palme (2311) - Bergen, - MAR 15, 20120.5l #544 bottle shared with ClubGonzo and Inbreak. Thanks! A little treat tasted neck to neck with the 2011 version. This one pours a light blurry brown body with a nice medium sized tan head. Mild but nice aroma with a distinct cocoa tone in the aroma. It also has some subtle chocolate and a hint of cardboard. Quite nice. Average carbonated this, with a mild oily texture. Nice subtle chocolate and dry cocoa powder flavors with a hint of gentle spices. Quite elegant, really drinkable and actually very good! 01.03.2012

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 visionthing (1725) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 19, 2012
Bottle (#543). Pours brown with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, coffee with hints of smoke. Surprisingly bitter, I expected a pretty sweet beer, especially after about one and a half year on bottle. A bit thin, but quite nice. Fairly dry and bitter finish. Wouldn’t mind more of this, but I guess it is too late now. Bottled: 092010 Best before: 092012

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 ComradeK (749) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - FEB 27, 2012
500ml bottle, September 2010 brewing date. Pours a murky, almost opaque deep chestnut, with a large beige head, which lasts reasonably well, leaving some lace. There really isn’t a lot going on so far as the aroma goes: a very faint sweetness, some coffee grounds and perhaps a tiny hint of sweet spice, but it is all very weak. There are some reasonably strong hops up front, lending a bit of citrus flavour, but they fade fairly quickly, to be replaced by a bit of wet cardboard and a finish which is very reminiscent of cold coffee, and the unpleasant flavour which it develops when left to go cold. All in all, it is pretty lacklustre, although, to be fair, it had been in the bottle for close to 18 months by the time I drank it, so that may have affected it. However, the "best before" on the bottle is still several months away, so I have chosen to judge it based on that, and the results are far from excellent. I certainly wouldn’t bother with it again.

2010 vintage bottle shared at the Daje Yule Beer Sessions 2011
Brown, beige head. Smells of yeast, peat and caramel. Very nice smoky aroma. Medium malt body, god sweetness. The palate is a bit thin i think but at the low abv you often get thin palate for styles like this. Nice bitter finish
