COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Norwegian: Et "one off" kreativt stunt. En syrnet porter med god eikeprofil og bringebær. Vi synes vi har fått en fin balanse i denne helt sorte øl.

RBESG 2010, draught at Brasserie 4:20
Black color, creamy head. Aroma of raspberry, blackberry, chocolate, wood, acetone; almost unbearable. Lean body; chocolate flavor, some fruits, and a disgusting acetone puckering flavor too. Undrinkable.

On tap @ Henrik, Bergen. A strange little beer. Pours dark and smells and tastes somewhat like balsamic vinegar. Refreshing but a 0,2l was more than enough.

Bottle 500ml @ Beer2000
[Courtesy of Beer2000] Pours dark brown almost black with no head. Aroma is nail polish, nail polish removal, acetone. Taste is medium to heavy sour and acidic. Bottle was well overdue. This was a bad bottle or just not my kind of beer.

Cask. A black beer with no head. The aroma has notes of raspberries and vinegar - you get used to it. The flavor is quite acidic with strong notes of raspberries as well as lighter notes of wood.

On tap at 4:20. Pitch black pour with a creamy tan head. The aroma is sour raspberries, light roast and chocolate. The flavour is raspberry, roasted malt, caramel and chocolate. Some vanilla in the finish.

3rd June 2010 - Brasserie 4:20. Black beer, frothy headf. Light palate. Very very sour - like a Duchesse on speed! A little fruity tang and some well buried vanilla. Better than the last time I had this but it is just too sour to the point of burning on the swallow.

On tap at 4:20 at RBESG Rome. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of raspberries, sour fruitiness, light chocolate. Flavour is sour raspberries, smooth roasted malts, light sweet vanilla, sour finish. Medium bodied. Not my style.

tap at 4:20 ... pink tan head ... sharp sour raspberry nose ... light chocolate ... sharp sour raspberry but at the same time an odd sweetness ... wonderfully complex ... big bite in linger ... where most of the sour is

Hand bottle shared by byaeger, who got it in an international trade. Pours very dark brown with almost no head (can’t fault it for this since it was a hand bottle though). Aroma is all nail polish. Just ridiculous. It almost burns your nostrils. Flavor is pretty nice with raspberry, roast, chocolate, and vanilla, EXCEPT that it’s totally destroyed by overwhelming nail polish, nail polish remover, and solventy flavors. Medium bodied with low carbonation; somewhat astringent. Overall, pretty much undrinkable. I’m glad this was a one-off, because it really was a failed experiment in my opinion.
