Köpt på Man in the moon, Stockholm. Ett redan gott grundöl får större smakupplevelse med tydliga vaniljtoner från ekfatslagringen. Mycket gott öl.

(Keg at Man in the Moon, 20150210) The beer poured dark brown. Its head was medium sized, dense, lightly brown and it lasted long. Aroma had fruitiness, chocolate, wood and caramel. Palate was full bodied and dryish with medium carbonation. Flavours were vanilla, wood, chocolate, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, woody and bitter. A tasty barrel aged brown ale. Not too extreme. Hides alcohol well.

Dark mahogny in colour, aroma is vanilla, some bourbon, some oak, raisins, chocolate, coffee. Big creamy body with soft carbonation. The finish is balanced sweet and with a little bitterness. The barrel aging gave this beer a new very balanced dimension which was really positive. Could be even better with a slightly lower abv.

Draught at Man in the Moon. Nice edge of rich sweet barrel goodness, giving this beer the character hte standard version IMHO is lacking. But this is not a kick-in-the face barrel aging, more filling in the blanks.
