3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 beerisgoodforu (645) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - APR 8, 2011
Tap @ Cask Pub and Kitchen in London. Pours an almost pitch black color with a frothy tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and a burnt note. The flavor is rather mild compared to the aroma with dark chocolate, burnt notes, roasted malts, and some faint coffee notes. The body is medium with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Overall a pretty good Porter.
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 onceblind (1351) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 6, 2011
Pours a deep heavy black with a dense, light brown head. Incredible aroma. Im getting dark chocolate, coffee, raisins, and some caramel cream. Flavor isn’t very far from the mark. Delicious roasted dark chocolate malts, caramel, sweet dark fruits, and some ground coffee. Deep roastiness without being smoky. Great full bodied mouthfeel, with sweet dark chocolate bringing back childhood munchies. Awesome beer. One of the best porters ever.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 rand (740) - SWITZERLAND - MAR 25, 2011
Bottle 50 cl from www.erzbierschof.ch. Black as a moonless night, small beige foam. Aroma closed of roasted, wet wood and coffee. Under a supple and a bit floury texture, the taste is roasted malt, a bit earthy, chocolate and molasses. Quite gently with bitterness of roasted, grilled almonds, espresso, rather light despite of the 7% ABV. Nice Porter with the chocolate which asserts over the sips.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 SDalkoholic (1490) - Chula Vista, California, USA - MAR 6, 2011
Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Created a thick patching of foamed head as if it were the glue used to plug a hole in a car tire while the liquid was a dense and dark brown. Aroma is tame and only holds a faint and distant background of gently roasted malts with a chance of coffee or an unknown form of chocolate. The flavor is subtle and has good qualities for a porter because of the bitter chocolate like sweetness and the sudden richness in the aftertaste as if I just took a sip of coffee.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Blairgus (1019) - California, USA - MAR 6, 2011
very dark ruby, can only see through the edges, clear with steady bubbles and a thin frothy tan head
nose is quite simple. soft dark chocolate and maybe some dried wheat/cereals
medium body and slightly fizzy (i was expecting more carbonation based on the bubbles)
Taste is rather mild as well. dark chocolate and burnt toast. there may be some soft nutty hints and some warm rasberries as well. this is a decent porter. not amazing but a great example of how a porter should taste.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Phillies2008Champs (283) - Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 5, 2011
Pours an opaque dark brown to black with head that dissipates quickly, the nose is strong with roasted flavors and slight sourness. First sip is coffee, toasted and rosted malt flaors, not over powering. I was expecting alittle more from this beer. The finish was clear with slight bitterness mostly from coffee flavor not hops.
