500ml bottle. This looks good in the glass with a deep head of light chocolate brown foam that settles to an even film. Colour of the beer is tar black with strong roasted coffee bean and dark chocolate aromas that set you up for what is to follow. Flavour is every bit as good as the aroma and while the beer is thin in the mouth there is a lasting effect on the palate. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate stand out in the flavour and there is a creamy fullness in the mouth that is satisfying.

Dark brown with thon mocha head. Fairly subdued slight beechwood smoke on nose. Initially sweet with chocolate and dried fruit. Thick body and a slightly astringent/alcoholic finish.

nice aroma - complex roasted; even burnt stuffs; chocolate. nice brown pour with frothy large tan head - taste was disappointing though. palate should be thicker; heavy on the charred taste, some chocolate but the char is too strong and there is something (sour?) that just doesn’t work...

16.9 oz bottle. Dark brown with thick tan froth. Nose is chocolate, molasses, grape and grain. Milky medium body with a metallic tang. Taste is espresso, chocolate, black walnut and grapefruit peel. Good but not so exciting.

Bottle. Pours really dark brown with a dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate and roast. Flavour of chocolate, roast, rich fruit with a finish that is sweet at first but ends fairly bitter. Excellent.

Really dark beer with a nice tan head that stays. Chocolate aroma, some sourness, clay, and roasted smell. Some coffee aroma. Some sourness in taste with a sweet finish. And also some odd background taste that I can’t really tell what it is.

Bottle from Pivoteka Zly casy, Prague. Almost black color with huge beige head. Aroma of coffee, dried plums, caramel, honey. Taste, strongly in coffee, dark chocolate, wood, bitter hops, hints of smoke. Dry finish. Nice.
