Pours a dark black with a large and bubbly dark brown head. Aroma is sweet and has hints of coffee, dark malts, and chocolate. The flavor is slightly sweet, with brown sugar, molasses, dark fruits, dark malts, and coffee. The coffee gets stronger on the finish. Very smooth beer.

[Sampled with the trio: Svoger, Svogergylp and Adenila Foged at EBF, 2008.] Although it is long time I’ve tasted this I remember some great smoothness all over. Good coffeechocs, sweetness and roasted malt. very pleasant and the best word describing this brew is: Soft!

Bottle at Novare. Pours supremely dark brown not much light getting through this guy! Aroma is super sweet, chocolate, coffee, and molasses. Flavor is very nice upfront tastes like brown sugar and molasses, as it recedes it becomes a little more complex with a more bitter flavor of coffee and chocolate. Super smooth mouthfeel. This one is a very robust porter, reminds me of baltic porters i’ve had...dare i say it almost could have an imperial in its name and i wouldn’t bat an eye.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a big beige head, thick lacing. Aroma is bar mocha and espresso. Dark chocolate and malt with coffee and hops. Creamy mouthfeel, smooth going down, alcohol barely noticeable. Very nice, well balanced and enjoyable.

Can’t see through this beer, or it’s beige head. Light roasted malts, some chocolate, berries, nuts, and molasses. Very nice. Thick, creamy, and silky smooth. Chocolate, toasted malts, faint dark fruits, some berries, molasses, and nutty. Finishes with little dryness and some bittersweet chocolate. This is one smooth, tasty, damn fine porter. Heavy, but not like many "stouts" that masquerade as porters. I should have bought three more... (Rating #800)

Pours a dark, opaque brown with a small tan head that deposits patchy lace on the glass. The nose is of chocolate, light coffee, faint almonds and roasted chocolate malt. Medium-bodied and creamy-slick with a mildly bitter and roasty finish. Sweet roasted chocolaty malt with a light almond and hop bitterness at the finish. A lingering coffee roastiness compliments the hops into the aftertaste. This is a fine porter. I really like this beer.
