Bottle from KAggie97 at the December Houston tasting. I am gay for KAggie! Pours a deep black with amber highlights and a nice beige head. Smells like Pepto Bismol and melon. Weird. Flavor is blunt chocolate with cough syrup and a faint coffee finish. Highly carbonated and fluffy mouthfeel. Interesting. Good for diahrrhea.

Pours with a dark brown to black body topped by a thin to medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It is slightly sweet yet slightly bitter with a light chocolate note and a touch of roast. Full bodied, smooth and a touch warming.

Bottle thanks to kaggie at the RB Houston Impy Stout tasting. Pours black, with a small brown head. Opaque. Nose is chalky, coffee ish but not overwhelming. Very carbonated and fluffy, it sort of disappears in my mouth turning a liquid into a gas. Very strange. Taste is a bit coffeeish with very little alcohol presence. Got better as it warmed but overall did not do much for me.
4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Travlr (4540) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - DEC 10, 2008
Best beer of the night at the Publick House near Boston. Deep ruby-red medium-bodied porter with flavors of toffee and coffee, and a slightly smoky finish. It tasted like a true British porter, whereas most American porters taste like stouts.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2009 Leave it to the Norsk to create such a good brew. The best porter i have had since Samuel Smiths Taddy Porter. Awesome smoked malt and roasty chocolate coffee taste. Totally a bad ass beer.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dogbrick (4531) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 8, 2008
Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting on 12/4/08: This brew is a solid brownish-black color with a medium thin and rocky light brown head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoked malt and dark chocolate plus a touch of coffee. Medium, round body with flavors of roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate and raisins. Light smoky character throughout. The finish is soft and roasty with a mocha aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Great Porter. Silky malt and wonderful body. On a cold night, this is a sexy fireside share.
