Hah! I thought I rated this one but I guess not. Black pour, moderate tan head, some lacing and retention. Aroma is typical porter - chocolate, coffee, roast, caramel, moderate to low hops. Medium to light body, fairly dry. Not bad.

Pitch black with a tan head. Huge smell of roasted grains, nuts and pit fruits. Medium bodied and smooth. Intense flavors of blackened malts, ripe pit fruits, malted chocolate. A rich, complex porter here, I like this better than Nogne’s Imperial Stout. Excellent. 10/26/07

1 pt .9 oz bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar: Pure black color with a generous cocoa froth head. Aroma is semi-sweet dark chocolate. Flavor starts light burnt roasted malt followed by dark chocolate and a little black coffee with a dry bitter coffee / dark chocolate finish. Medium body is silky with moderate carbonation.

500 mL bottle. Pours a dark brown black color with a nice-sized tan head and a ridiculous amount of yeast that mostly sinks to the bottom, but a lot remains floating around in the beer-part of the beer. This is the most unique characteristic of this one. Chocolatey woody aroma... good but not overwhelmingly so. Nice flavor, predictable, again nothing that knocks my socks off, but good. Really, this is a little thin bodied. Decent, good even... but wouldn’t buy it again.

500ml bottle. Pours normal porter brown/black with a large foamy tan ocean of a head that sticks around. Aroma is scotch tape and smoke at first but then fades into a nice creamy chocolate smell. Very nice milk chocolate aroma akin to Bell’s Kalamazoo. Some smokiness resides making it unique. Smells smooth and creamy. Taste is chocolatey, lightly bitter, subdued roastiness. Mouthfeel is creamy and soft though watery, to a fault though just barely. A little flat maybe. Incredibly drinkable. This is a good porter.

(500 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/portland/ target=blank>Downeast Beverage Co., cellared for 8 mos. after purchase) Thick, rich, roasty and chocolatey...Pours very dark brown with some highlights along edges. Three fingers of creamy-looking mocha head. Aroma of dark chocolate, a bit of coffee roast and grain. Mouthfeel is quite full and thick, some oiliness, some smooth milk-shakey creaminess. Heavy, weepy rings of lacing. Flavor is heavy dark chocolate with some hints of milk chocolate along with fresh coffee roast. At times veers towards a stout. Not much complexity but quite tasty and thick.

From bottle : Pours a black as night color with a half finger of light brown head, that dies down to a ring after a couple minutes. A very roasted malt and chocolate nose of this one, very stong, with some hints of alcohol. Pretty thick bodied beer, but it is very light going down, kinda weird. Flavor is tons of roasted malt again, with some chocolate. Finishes with some alcohol, and has a chocolate aftertaste. Pretty nice porter.

Smells like liquid dark chocolate. Really dark color and had thick brown head that withered away into a nice lacy cling. was really smooth to start and the dark chocolate really came out in the finish kind of dry with a slight alcohol burn. Good stuff.
