Liquid black with a just a bit of head. Not a very good smelling porter in my opinion. Tar, charcoal and a sharp sweetness. Chalky taste with a dry coco that borders on milk chocolate. Slightly acidic. Body and mouth feel were semi-dry and chalky. Really nothing I’ll ever get again.

Black, brown head. Liquorice and malt in the aroma. Flavor is a little more dry, still maltiness and liquorice most dominant. Long bitter finish. An excellent porter, full and balanced.

bottle. pours a deep black with a tan head that lasts through most of the glass. Tremendous amount of malts in here.... also, coffee, fruits (slight plum) and chocolate. medium body, not too carbonated and very diverse. A very nice porter from Norway.... one of the best imo. complex, delicious and full of enjoyment.

500ml from Sam’s, Durham. Nice looking pour with a slightly too-modest head. The aroma is delectable, very chocolatey, and the rich flavors continue in the taste (along with a generous, and fairly unexpected bit of smoke and roast coffee). Lustrous mouthfeel initially, but tapers off and is a bit too thin, I think. Overall, though, it’s a lovely porter with complexity and power.

Pours very dark brown with a sudsy brown head that had good retention. The aroma has roasted malt, lush creamy aspects, milk chocolate and rich vanilla. Medium / full body with a smooth slick and soft carbonation. The flavor starts off with milk chocolate, roasted malt showing very little bitterness, vanilla cream and light hoppy spice. The finish shows more spice and some white chocolate. Big thumbs up for this world class porter.

Pours black with a sizable tan head. Aroma is thick and sweet with bakers chocolate and licorice. Flavor is not as powerful as the aroma. Roasted bitterness with some sweet maltiness. The body is thinner than I expected from such a dark aromatic brew.

Pours a deep black color with a minimal tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolates, and licorice. Silky body, very smooth. Great bittersweet chocolate presence. Fresh coffee roast on the finish, quite dry. More of a stout than a porter, in my eyes, but great nonetheless.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are earthy roast malts with citrus. Smoky with some chocolate. Flavours are roast malts with sweet and dark chocolate. Rich and malty. Bitter and dry on the finish. Oily and addictive.
