UPDATED: JAN 8, 2009 Biggish brown head. Nearly opaque dark brown body. Roasty coffeeish aroma with hoppy oily rye notes. Dry-sweetish taste, with an acidic edge, of burnt sooty rye with vaguely citric hop notes. Very harmonic and balanced. Full-bodied. Soft mouthfeel. Dry delicate burnt aftertaste with grainy chocolatey notes. Burnt notes linger. Very, very good and highly drinkable. Grew on me as I drank. (0.5l bottle, Wine monopoly, Oslo.)

500 ml bottle from Blue Max in Burnsville, MN (June 2007, consumed a bit below cellar temperature from a Unibroue glass. The fluffy medium-tan head dies slowly, leaving thick and chunky lacing atop the opaque ebon-hued nectar....strongly roasty nose offers bitter dark chocolate and espresso beans, a hint of old port, a faint whisper of vanilla and caramel, perhaps a breeze of dates, in short just what I’m wanting in a fine porter....the flavor picks up nicely, with a bit of nutty (walnuts or pecans) character joining the roasty cold chocolaty cowboy coffee....it’s quite smooth and easy to drink, and therein lies the only small flaw to me, as a bit too much sweetness emerges and there is a faint cloying aspect from the middle through the finish, enhanced by the low carbonation....still quite pleasant, if not spectacular.

Nice roast aroma, a very good porter if not a splendid one. I think they can improve this.

Aroma of chocolate and fruit. Taste commensurate with aroma with dark malt sweetness and a dry sweet/sour finish.

My bottle (500ml), shared with tupalev. Pours black with ruby hues and a good size lasting light-brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, chocolate and coffee. Flavour of roasted malt, roasted coffee, and dark chocolate. Short dry finish. Alcohol’s well hidden. Medium bodied, somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Great Porter, incredibly easy to drink.

From a trade with oh6gdx, thanks Patrik.
Bottled(500ml). -Black coloured, cappucino brown head, chicory chocolate nose. Also, strong chicory and chocolate taste with notes of smoke. Rather bitter finish. Quite one-dimensional porter.
