500mL Bottle, purchased at Wakefield Liquors - Wakefield, RI. There’s something about Nogne that always comes across as Boreal, coniferous, and juniper-like to me. The aroma and flavor profiles all seem to have a similar piney-edge that I really enjoy. This example is no different. With a crisp, clean cool ocean scent of salicornium, agarwood, and earth. A dense brown-black pour with copious creamy tan head. Flavors are vibrant, prickly, and dense. Lots of robust roasted qualities and a flourishing hoppiness that mingles with an English yeast for a complex addition to the already deep maltiness. Clean, tight, concise and together. Nice work.

Toasted malt nose, dark brown color, sticky tan head. Chocolate tastes, smokey at times, woody in the middle. Charcoal end. Medium body. Rustic, but quite enjoyable.

Bottle via trade with pantanap - Thanks Kan! - Pours black with a nice creamy tan head that stays pretty well and laces some. Aromas of coffee, slight chocolate, caramel, and a good amount of roast. Flavor is roasty mostly with some good coffee and chocolate notes. A good amount of caramel there too and a touch of liccorice. Good smooth well carbonated creamy palate that I thought had a nice pleasant mouthfeel. Pretty nice porter overall and I do believe this is also my first Norwegian brew..

Thanks to Madsberg for this treat!
Dense dark color with a good tan head.
Roasted malt and caramel aromas easily rise to meet the nose from this one.
Well balanced flavor fades into a long roasty finish that lingers with the coating of flavors left on the tongue. Very enjoyable Porter!

Bottle from LS tasted on St Patty’s at Tom’s house. This, like the nogne impy, was a little bit different, bit a very refreshing change. roasted malts, chocolate, and generic fruits highlight the flavore with smooth bready notes and very mild hop flavor in the finish.
