500 ml bottle, this is great.
Very rich and sweet, big thick body, bitter flavor but not in the aftertaste.

My first Nøgne, my first Norwegian (besides the last time I got some Aass, LOL!) - very refined and on the light side with a nice bit of sour yeastiness and smoky malt, and the expected coffee and mild chocolate. Pours very dark with an effusive but light wheat-like tan head. I am getting raisin and fig type fruits, and a nice after-feel that is very pleasing, of hops and roast. Aroma is somewhat like flavor and a bit ’wild’ with some sour grains and barnyard. Would like some more rich toffee and chocolate in the middle to give it some legs. Almost lemony rather than sweet, The brew needs to find an anchoring point, but is a respectable Porter that might be good to session.

Pours a dark, opaque brown with a small tan head that deposits patchy lace on the glass. The nose is of chocolate, light coffee, faint almonds and roasted chocolate malt. Medium-bodied and creamy-slick with a mildly bitter and roasty finish. Sweet roasted chocolaty malt with a light almond and hop bitterness at the finish. A lingering coffee roastiness compliments the hops into the aftertaste. This is a fine porter. I really like this beer.

On tap at Biero. Masterpiece. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, and caramel. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and very long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Black, with a frothy white head.

First beer poured into my new Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Champions mug. Pours a nice jet black color with a huge amount of froathy bubbly lighter brown head. Reminds me of an irish coffee in appearance. Aroma is actually rather weak: dark baking chocolate and molases. Flavor is very light in general, molases and a bit of dry sweet chocolate. Overall, not as good as I’d hoped but not bad by any means.

1 pt .9 oz bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar: Pure black color with a generous cocoa froth head. Aroma is semi-sweet dark chocolate. Flavor starts light burnt roasted malt followed by dark chocolate and a little black coffee with a dry bitter coffee / dark chocolate finish. Medium body is silky with moderate carbonation.
