Bottle. Pours pitch black with a big beige head, thick lacing. Aroma is bar mocha and espresso. Dark chocolate and malt with coffee and hops. Creamy mouthfeel, smooth going down, alcohol barely noticeable. Very nice, well balanced and enjoyable.

Large, medium tan head. Pitch black, unpenetratable and shiny colour.
A bit closed on the nose at first, but opens up after a while in the glass and the temperature rises a bit. Aromas of dark malts, raisins, chocolate, toffee and coffee with floral notes and hints of red berries and banana.
Medium to full bodied and smooth on the palate with good, fine bubbled mousse. The coffee is more pronounced in the taste than on the nose. Finishes with a long, fresh, grainy bitter afertaste.
Well balanced. Powerful, but still elegant. Wonderful porter!

500ml bottle. This looks good in the glass with a deep head of light chocolate brown foam that settles to an even film. Colour of the beer is tar black with strong roasted coffee bean and dark chocolate aromas that set you up for what is to follow. Flavour is every bit as good as the aroma and while the beer is thin in the mouth there is a lasting effect on the palate. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate stand out in the flavour and there is a creamy fullness in the mouth that is satisfying.

Bottle shared with ClubGonzo. Deep dark brown to black colour, cloudy. Big beige lasting head. Aromas of sweet chocolate malt. Fantastic taste with chocolate, coffee and more malt sweetness with dried fruit. Nice medium bitterness. Fullbodied with a oily mouthfeel. An excelent porter which only gets better for each time i drink it.

Draught. Black with a large beige head. Salty licorice, strong coffee, some spices, and fruits, hints of acidity. I like this one.

Eit levande Øl! Myk og fyldig øl med kompleksitet. Lukter spanande som seg hør og bør! Forventningane er der, eg har trua! Dette var ein mildare guiness, dog betre. Skal ikkje sjå bort i frå att eg kjem til å drikka mei av dette ølet.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2011 0.5l bottle. Great taste of chocolate, and fruit. Nice color and top. If you like a good porter buy this!

This black as a tropical night brew is a very nice experience. Full oily body with a medium head. Good balanced coffee roasted cereals Suprisingly fresh finish.
