"Very dark brown body almost zero light penetration. A thick rocky cap floats on top with stupidly long retention, lacing is awesome. Sweet/sour aroma lots of red wine and coffee, aroma is so bold. The more I think about it I know red wine isn’t correct but that’s all I can think of. The aroma is starting to get more spicy the longer it sits, possibly some apple showing up to. Smells so good. Lots of spicy earth in the taste, intense dirt (yes that is correct intense dirt) lots of coffee, possibly some cider. Mouth feel is smooth maybe a touch thin though. Flavour is blowing me away with its intensity. Tasting is turning more and more smoky as it warms. I’m also getting possibly strawberry. So complex so yummy this an a amazing brew, I’m positive I could drink this ten times and keep finding new flavours. By far the best beer you have brought back so far Jeff tanks olat."

The aging suprised me with this beer, the mouthfeel improved, the body seemed fuller and the taste had changed to mint chocolate like wonderful bew. I didn’t care much for this before but I have to say now that this is pretty pretty good.

12.09.2009, 0,5l Bottle. Batch 406, Brewed 21.01.2009. This beer is black as tje night with tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malts. Very nice hoppy aroma and bitterness. This is a very good porter!! ྦྷ.02.2004, 0,5l Bottle, Batch 14, brygget 19.07.2003.

Draft @ mikkeller bar. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, smoke, tobacco, molasses and a whole lot more. Wow. Flavour is smoky coffee, roasted malt, molasses and more. Lighter then expected in body, but lingering on for ages. Lovely beer.

Note: I accidentally rated this on Haandbryggeriet Porter, but now I move the rating to the correct beer!

Bottle, batch 261. Pours with a gigantic, brown, bubbly/rocky head! Very very dark, with a hint of nutty brown. The head is very firm, can grow well above the glass without spoiling out onto the table, and yields to nothing. E.g. tilting the glass has practically no impact on the head. Great aroma, lots of chocolate/smoke/toast, reminds me of NØ Imperial Brown Ale, but slightly more bitter and more roasted. Very well balanced, with what I consider an appropriate amount of bitterness. There’s a hint of fruit, citrus and herbs on the edges, but the dark malts dominate. A dry, lingering aftertaste as the description says, with a nutty roundness. Gotta love that fruity, nutty, chocolaty malt aroma! Full-bodied, somewhat slick, yet drinkable and well-balanced. Lively carbonation, very much to my liking. Not too much, not too little. I wish I had some parmesan cheese and/or smoked meat, which would probably be great with this porter!

[keg at Bacchus, Newcastle] Deep, rich brown pour from the keg, good head. Roasty aromas, albeit cold from the keg. Once the beer warms, the malt component comes out even more. Plenty of alcohol in there, finish is long and roasty, some stone fruit in evidence. Love the aftertaste, which is heavy on the mocha flavours [12112011]
