Bottle. 22 oz. Split with Sean. Pours rich chicory brown, almost opaque with a thick, frothy amber head. Aroma of chocolate, brown sugar, toffee, barley, roasted malts, and hints of clove. Awesome body; coca-cola complexity and a crisp, yet slowly smooth finish. Hands down, best porter I have ever tasted. Absolutely excellent.

Sweet bitter taste of choclate, coffee, dried fruit. And a aftertaste of burned caramel.
Beautiful aroma of coffee and sugar.
Lovely design and appearance.

Huge head. Bottle was unshaken and still once the cap was popped, the head just crept up. Pours dark with a huge light tan head. Cannot properly describe the aroma; it is not sweet, not roasted, not burnt. Will have to update when I find the words to describe it. Does not taste like a typical porter, the fruit undercurrent covers the ’porter’ taste. Starts out tasting like a dark fruit, and finishes with a light porter taste. Almost creamy texture. Overall, I was expecting a porter however I got an experience instead. This is a great beer to ease people into darker beer.

Pours tawny brown with fluffy khaki head. Aroma is of licorice, leather, coffee, green hops. On the palate it is full bodied and rich, tastes like chocolate and coffee, the hops only come through in the lasting bitterness. This beer has the full flavor of malted barley that only European beers seem to express in it’s entirety. It’s like a meal. This is a screamingly good porter--although at $8 per bottle, I would much rather have a 6 pack of Edmund Fitzgerald. A rare and exotic treat from Norway!

Best beer of the night at the Publick House near Boston. Deep ruby-red medium-bodied porter with flavors of toffee and coffee, and a slightly smoky finish. It tasted like a true British porter, whereas most American porters taste like stouts.

0,5 l bottle @ Cardinal. Pours black with a decent light brown head. Excellent lacing. Pleasant and inviting aroma of milky coffee and roasted malts. Flavors and mouthfeel deliver on the aroma. Tastes sweet with a burnt bitterness. Nice coffee in the finish and also hops character. Alcohol is there but it’s all well balanced. Medium-full bodied and smooth as milk.
Fantastic beer.

Aroma of chocolate and fruit. Taste commensurate with aroma with dark malt sweetness and a dry sweet/sour finish.

Pours a dark black with a tan head. Smell was similar to leather. Had a good malty flavor. Drank this out of a trappist glass
