Pours a nice black color with a tan head. Roasted aroma with coffee and some chocolate. Tastes of predominantly roasted malts with coffee and dark chocolate. Well-balanced, creamy with just a hint of carbonation.

It pours a dark, opaque sable with a VERY thick, if not too persistent, light brown head. The bottle I got foamed like nobody’s business, so be careful if you have this in a bottle! Aroma is rich, smoky, mocha-like with a hint of sweetness, very inviting. Flavor is like fine roast coffee with chocolate undertones, but it got a bit tinny as I got near the bottom of the bottle. Texture is smooth and fairly tingly. Satisfying.

Slightly bitter aroma with some roasted malt. Flavors of big roasted malt, coffee, and a faint frutiness on the finish. Tan head gives a creamy texture. Leaves a slightly sweet aftertaste. Borderingon stout size flavors but the body and thickness are lighter like a porter.

Tasted 7/24/08. 500ml bottle. Dark brown and thick. Finger width of beige head. Toffee aromas with hints of cocoa, toast and mild anise. Solid nose! Rather full bodied with a sticky malt character. Coffee and bittersweet chocolate flavors. Cookies and dark berries. Sticky with a mild tart and bitter palate. Decent hop palate. Mild vanilla creaminess. Mild raisin note. Good rolling palate, but on the sweet side. Low effervescence and mild acidity. Almost a Baltic style, but hoppier. Totally tasty!

Pretty damn good porter. I was somewhat expecting something more British or European, but this ended up tasting almost like a Black Marlin porter. Delicious, easy to drink and nice label. Thanks Naven! Good call on that one.

Black pour with a big, dense, tan head. Lots of roasted malt aroma, dates, some semi-sweet chocolate, and a little blackberry. Mixed and dark fruit flavors hit the tongue first followed by a nice balance of roast, coffee, and semi-sweet chocolate. Medium body with gentle yet plentiful carbonation and a slightly aqueous finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark black color with a nice creamy brown head on top. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, dried fruit, smoke, and licorice. Flavor is smooth with dry bitter chocolate, coffee, dark roastiness, and licorice. On the palate this beer seems just a tad bit too thin. Overall a wonderful porter.

Pours a dark, opaque brown with a small tan head that deposits patchy lace on the glass. The nose is of chocolate, light coffee, faint almonds and roasted chocolate malt. Medium-bodied and creamy-slick with a mildly bitter and roasty finish. Sweet roasted chocolaty malt with a light almond and hop bitterness at the finish. A lingering coffee roastiness compliments the hops into the aftertaste. This is a fine porter. I really like this beer.
