Dark. Coffee and chocolate bitterness and burnt caramel. Outstanding. Smells like... nothing, though.

Pours black. Silky off white foaming head which dissipates quickly. Nose is syrupy dark chocolate. Taste is smooth chocolate and quite a bit of roasted bitterness on the finish. Bit of fruitiness in the bitterness which gives way to some woody notes on the finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Black with a nice foamy light brown head. Great roasted malty and chocolate with sence of dark fruits. The taste is still roasted malty with a dark chocolate ending. Nice!
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 gyllenbock (1608) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 14, 2010
Bottle.
Of course very black, with a thick and good looking tan head.
Nice aroma of coffee, roasted malt, a slight tone of smoke and chocolate. A pleasant taste, yes indeed. Coffee, nice roasted flavors, chocolate. Also some coconut? Imagination perhaps? Carbonation was medium and the finish bitter. Not a heavy taste but enjoyable.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bitzybrew (41) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 23, 2009
A: Dark brown with a red hue. Not much light penetration. Big fluffy tan to light brown head. Had to let the beer settle a bit to fill the glass.
S: Lots of roasted malt, some dark fruits like plum and dark cherries, a little hop bitterness, some coffee and bitter chocolate.
T: Just like the smell lots of roasted malt flavors like coffee and chocolate. Slight bitterness but didn’t take away from the balance of the beer. A bit of fruit but not so significant. As I drank more I picked up a pleasant smokiness which complemented the roasty notes quite well.
M: At times the alcohol was more present. Quite thick but not overly stout. Good creamy texture.
D: With the heavy body/mouthful I could prob only drink one bomber of this. This it a beer that’s good for drinking with a nice burger or steak and savor the roasty complexity of the beer.

AR: caramel fudge + roasted malt, odd but very nice combo, the aroma is a bit sugary sticky (which is possitive - in this case)
AP: amber with reddish tone, frothy beige head
F: roasted malt, butter fudge, thinn & dry finish
