Pours black with a creamy tan head. Nice aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Good roasted coffee flavor that lingers nicely. A little too weak on the body in my opinion. Really close to being great but not quite there.

Very black. Aroma is quite normal, a bit malty. The flavor is strong at first with some hops in the finish. A basic porter i.e. very drinkable.

Bottle. Pretty much black with a decent brown head although without much lacing. Aroma is dark roasty malt, chocolate, and coffee. Lovely mild sweetness and goes down very smooth with a slightly dry aftertaste. Very good.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2010 Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Dark brown/black colour, beige head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts, a bit musty. Flavour is bitter, roasted malts and strong coffee, some dark chocolate, slight sweetness. OK porter, but expected a bit more. 637415 Re-rate Bottle sample at stout tasting at In de Wildeman. A lot more dark and dried fruit notes, nice sweetness, chocolate. Highly enjoyable. 738416

Bottle 50 cl from www.erzbierschof.ch. Black as a moonless night, small beige foam. Aroma closed of roasted, wet wood and coffee. Under a supple and a bit floury texture, the taste is roasted malt, a bit earthy, chocolate and molasses. Quite gently with bitterness of roasted, grilled almonds, espresso, rather light despite of the 7% ABV. Nice Porter with the chocolate which asserts over the sips.

A nice, off white head, on top of a black beer. Aroma; This is really coffee mocca, with alot of chocolaty coffee on the nose. Also getting some yeast notes, maybe some spice and pineneedle aswell. Tobacco after some time in the glass Flavour; Pineneedle, some coffeebeans, really getting a earthy note here aswell. there is a good carbonation, good lenght, and finishes solid and dry. Summary; It does not blow me away, but it’s a really solid porter!!

500 ml bottle, this is great. Very rich and sweet, big thick body, bitter flavor but not in the aftertaste.
