4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
oured from the tap into a pint glass
The color is a dark black with some maroon highlights and about two fingers of foamy brownish head and some nice lacing left on the glass.
The smell is roasty with a little dry malt aroma. There is some dark chocolate aroma in the nose that has a coffee roast like aroma too.
The taste is roasted malt and is filled with a nice dry chocolate flavor that sets back a bit to hang with a coffee flavor that mixes with some nice toast burnt flavor.
The feel of this beer is complex but smooth as it goes down with ease and has a silky aftertaste that is more enjoyable then a lot of Porters I have had. This one is one of the better ones.

19 April 2014. Purchased from Gooden in Taipei. Opaque brown-black with fine beige head and lots of lacing. Smells strongly of coffee with some malt and ripe fruit and smoke in the background. Tastes more acidic than the aroma, burnt roasted malts with some very bitter hop and coffee to balance. Body is a bit watery but has nice fizzy carbonation. A great porter.

Fantastic... There are red fruits over a roasted coffee base. It’s like a choco fruit cake. Cake, fruit, then cake again. Amazing

Bottle. Aroma smoke, roasted, alcohol. Clear dark brown colour. Taste is malt-centered, but there is decent supporting bitterness. Smoked, chocolate, light light coffee. Overall smooth mouthfeel, no astringency, very easy drinking. Very good beer, long roasted finish.

Bortimot svart farge med beige skum. Lukter kaffe, karamell og svisker. Fyldig og nydelig i munnfølelse. Kaffe og fruktigheten kommer godt fram i smaken. Fin bitter avslutning. En meget god porter.

Draft to taster at Ei8ht Ball. Looks good; a cloudy dark cola with off-white lacing. Smells sold; dark malt, chocolate, and caramel. Tastes like it smells, but more roasty than sweet. Solid on the palate with a bit of bitterness. A nice porter.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Black, brown color with a small beige head. Black coffee, bready malts and a lot of smoke with hints of salt and toffee - unexpected smokiness which works exeptional well with the earthy, bitter character of this beer.
Fantastic, very unexprected taste for a Porter. Fascinating interaction between bitter coffee and earthy, bready malts, coated up by sweet toffee hints. On top of that, there is a gentle smokiness wich adds a fantastic complexity to the beer, along with a chewy salt infusion. Those different tastes are in perfect balance, which leads to a enjoyable, complex, warm Porter with a soft, smooth mouthfeel. Unexpected bitter for a beer of this style, but very convincing, with smokiness acting as the cherry on top.
