3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From keg @Schouskjelleren, Oslo. An opaque brown beer, with a thin sand-colored cream head. Nice smell of sweet-scented toasted malts, rounded spices and herbs, and some fine grassy/earthy hops. Taste is on the sweet side, but it’s a refined and rounded sweetness. The pumkin addition is not overdone, shines trough with a soft herbal and light spicy character. Silky mouthfeel. More than medium full. Spices and a light bitterness linger in the finish. Nice!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ Patrick’s, Kristiansand, only moments before the keg was empty and a lot of people’s smiles faded... :-S Also, it’s my first pumpkin ale AND my first beer at Patrick’s. Weeee! :-D Pours a hazy dark bronze body with a small white head. Nose is caramel, pumpkin, hints of white pepper and wet leaves. Taste is strong peppery herbal notes balanced by deep malty caramel tones, burnt toast and hints of pumpkin hidden way in the back. Not much of it really, but this is still a good beer. Full body and a high carb level which serves well to provide a fresh mouthfeel in what is otherwise a rather sweet beer. A perfect autumn ale; solid stuff from NØ. Too bad the mash was "super stuck", otherwise more people would be enjoying this around the world...

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Patricks. A murky, brown beer with a finger thick creamy beige head. Nice lacings. Spiced, lightly herbal aroma with chocolate notes, roasted malts, a nice hoppyness and somthing lightly sourish. Piney notes. Rather sweet on the palate, but not sticky, full bodied and smooth. Some spiced notes, roasted and nicely bitter. Bitter finish with roasted malts and some chocolate. A nice one indeed, but it would be even more nice with a tad more spicyness. 111028

I enjoy pumpkin ales that let the taste of the pumpkin come to the front without added spices to change the taste. Roasted pumpkin flavor is nice n the beer. I enjoyed this one and am glad I had the opportunity to enjoy it from a fresh tap so far from Norway.
