COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gresskarøl er en plage å brygge. Mesken blir som en tykk grøt som det tar en evighet å sile av. I denne ølen brukte vi tørkede biter av gresskar. Avsilingen tok 7 timer. Men litt gøy var det likevel!

Pumpkin Ale is a nightmare to brew. The mash becomes impermiable and it takes forever to collect the wort from it. In this beer we used dried pumpkin. The runoff took 7 hours. We still enjoyed it though.

Kaatuu lasiin rubiininpunaisena ja kirkkaana, vaahto on todella iso ja kestävä jättäen vahvaa pitsiä. Hajussa on vahvaa mausteisuutta ja puumaisuutta, joita tukee hedelmäisyys. Jonkinlaista pistävyyttä on jostain syystä joukossa. Maku on yhtä lailla pistävä (kurpitsaako?). Siitä löytyy (joulu)mausteisuutta, marjaisuutta ja leipäistä hiivaisuutta. Hyvin suoraviivainen maku. Suutuntuma on melko kuiva, kitkerähkö, pistävä ja hieman ohut. Suoraviivainen, simppeli ja hieman pistävän makuinen olut, joka on toisaalta monipuolinen, toisaalta melko tylsä.

tasted like a pumpkin pie, Nice pumpkin and spice notable only the over all flavor just fell a little short for me.

Flaska från systembolaget - Aromen är något kemikalisk. Mörk till färgen och beiget skum. Beskan tar överhanden och man kan inte känna pumpan. Känns som beskan kommer från malten(?).

Tap @ Cardinal. Pours a really nice pale-tan head which leaves beautiful lacing as the beer "disappears". The color is clear deep amber. Aromas of toffee and caramel from the malts, maybe some spices if you put your mind into it. Complex taste that I can’t describe, but it’s not what I expected from a pumpkin ale. But it’s really good and balanced. Too bad it’s so limited as it’s a really good ale from Nøgne Ø.

Dark brown reddish colour with an off-white head. Aroma of pumpkin with some caramel. Taste of hops with some bitterness with a background of pumpkin, spice and some caramel and peach. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I enjoy pumpkin ales that let the taste of the pumpkin come to the front without added spices to change the taste. Roasted pumpkin flavor is nice n the beer. I enjoyed this one and am glad I had the opportunity to enjoy it from a fresh tap so far from Norway.
