Gresskarøl er en plage å brygge. Mesken blir som en tykk grøt som det tar en evighet å sile av. I denne ølen brukte vi tørkede biter av gresskar. Avsilingen tok 7 timer. Men litt gøy var det likevel!

Pumpkin Ale is a nightmare to brew. The mash becomes impermiable and it takes forever to collect the wort from it. In this beer we used dried pumpkin. The runoff took 7 hours. We still enjoyed it though.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger (only 1 keg available there, I’m afraid). Cloudy orange-brown colour, large and creamy beige head. Sweetish fruity and vegetal aroma (the pumpkins, I assume), also notes of piney American hops. Effervescent mouthfeel. The flavour is fruity with notes of pumpkins, but is not too sweet. Spicy notes too, decent American hops throughout. Very drinkable.

Rake. Keg. Clear deep amber beer with a small pale cream coloured head. Palate is crisp but has some viscousity. Smooth creamy malt. Light ripe orange and very surpressed pumpkin fruit. Equally light cinnamon. Finishes smooth with a fine minerally carbonated nip. Mellow bitter linger. Interesting pumpkin beer - not shouty.

Sweet spicy aroma. Taste likewise. Not getting pumpkin. Lovely rich sticky roast. Burnt, even. Interesting, certainly, and probably the best brew I’ve had which has had pumpkin in it, which I normally hate.

Bottle @ beer temple. Aroma is herbal and foresty. Taste is spicey, with a subtle touch of pumpkin and cinnamon. Mild spicey finish. Elegant, but could be more outspoken.
