Draft tap. One of the Nøgne Ø founders recommended this one to me. The head was rather flat, and instantly the aroma was absent. The palate was sharp and it was overall pretty bitter. After a while - a few minutes - the fantastic and sweet pumpkin aftertaste revealed itself and took over the show, and THAT was what made this beer so good.

OleR (4802) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 29, 2012
From tap @Pingvinen, Bergen. Cloudy brown body. Low beige head. Spiced caramelly malt aroma, with a fresh sour tone to it. Smooth on the palate. Medium full. Quite so flavorfull. Good malt body. Herbal, caramelly and gently spiced. Pumpkin is noticable, and certainly not overdone. Light perfumey endnotes. A very likeable one. [07.09.12]

Foffern (1227) - Bodø, NORWAY - NOV 25, 2012
On tap at Henrik, Bergen. Pours a deep hazy brown olour with a medium beige head. Aromas of dark malt, dried fruits, pumpkin, roasted almonds and winegums. The flavour is more fruity with apricot, hops, dried fruit, cherries and some spices. The mouthfeel is light and slick, and has a light to medium bitterness. A definately fresh and tasteful beer.

On tap at Henrik, Bergen. Pours dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel and some spices. Taste is light sweet malty, weak roasted malts. Thin and almost watery mouthfeel. Moderate spicy aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Some candy like sweetness all the way.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 4/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 8/20
mjs (4607) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 15, 2012
(Draught at Pikkulintu, 20121115) The beer poured deep reddish brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, spices and liquorice. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were spices, acridness, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was acrid, spicy and bitter. I wasn’t expecting a pleasant experience but the acridness was still a nasty surprise.
