COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this ale with the famous sake yeast No 7 from Masumi Sake in Nagano, Japan. On advise from Masumi’s master brewers, we fermented this ale very slowly at low temperatures to bring out No 7’s fabulously fruity character. This product is unfiltered and unpasteurized. Please enjoy chilled! Special thanks to Masumi!

Grumsete brunaktig med minimalt lyst skum. Alkohol, svisker noe sylighet i lukten. Alkohol, med en del sødme mot brunt sukker og mørke frukter, noe vaniljetoner. Uten kullsyre.

Flaske 0,25l fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Mørk rødbrun. Veldig uklar. Lavt tett skum. God sursøt aroma. Litt frukt. Oljeaktig munnfølelse. Vanvittig fylde. Smaken er mandler, svisker & plommer. Varer og varer. Avslutter litt tørt.

25cl from Vinmonopolet, Storo. Pours slightly hazy deep amber with an off-white head. Malty with notes of dried fruits, yeast and hints of alcohol. Sweet, complex and quite balanced. A bit to much on the sweet side, but certainly a decent brew.

On bottl with Visionthing, thanks a lot! Amber color, some foam. Aromas of sake yeast, malt dried fruits and some corn: high aroma intensity . Full body & high complexity. Sweet, but balances quite ok

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein orangebraunes Bier mit sehr wenig Schaum. Geruch sehr malzig, fruchtig, Dörrobst, holzig, alkoholisch. Geschmack sehr malzig fruchtig, leicht hopfig, sehr reifes Obst, holzig, Vanille, leicht alkohlisch.

[From my backlog, tasted @ Cimmeria and shared with David Lowenbrau]. Coppery colour with a minimal and quickly diminishing off-white head. Aroma has notes of toasted malts, some molasses, caramel, sweet white wine. Flavor is slightly sweet, with some sour notes, toasted sugar, slightly alcoholic very good hidden by a mild bitterness, notes of molasses.Mild sweet final, not cloying with honey traces and light bitterness.

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2014 25cl bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 04-05-2014.
Shared with Teddybeer.
In short: a strong sweet ale.
Pours hazy mahogany-copper, with little light tan head.Short head retention, some lacing. Malty, caramel, liquorice and liquor aromas. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is sweet, malty, caramel, liquor, some subtle sour flavours, but sweetness dominated. Very smooth, balanced and pleasant.

4oz pour at Churchkey’s Nogne O Tap Takeover. Pours a hazy, caramel amber with a ring of white head. Nose has a lot of caramel, orange, some drying wood pile, caramelized root veg, a little leafy too. Flavor has a lot of barley, heavy corn, whiskey, brandy, raisin. Distinctly starchy. Slick, oily finish. Not my thing.

Draft at Churchkey for meet the brewer event. Poured a clear ruby color without much of a head - though I was drinking off a drink that was poured a while before I showed up. Aroma is boozy, barley wine sweetness. Some light yeast notes. Flavor was booze, light alcohol burn, yeast character reminiscent of sake. Toffee, caramel.
