COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of our most refreshing brews, made for those hot summer days, but satisfying year ’round. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F. Goes well with seafood, particularly oysters.

Ingredients: Wheat and lager malt; East Kent Goldings and Crystal hops; Belgian ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

14°P, 25 IBU, 6.5 ABV.

From a bottle poured a hazy straw color with a fair amount of head. Light spicy malty flavor with a quick finish.

Pours straw yellow with a soft white head. The nose is of white flowers, a slight yeast presence - but no more than, say, Duvel - orange peel, lemon, apple and spices like cinnamon and clove. Taste is of the nose. Again the yeast is soft and the beer is sweet, which is nice if not wholly traditional. I’d like more tartness and dryness, but this does manage to be perfumed enough to balance the malts. The mouth feel is thin with a very soft carbonation. It finishes on the scented notes of blossoms and fields. Though it lacks a certain complexity, it is a refreshing and enjoyable beer.

Pours lightly hazy pale yellow gold with a tall, initially creamy, then chunky eggshell head that has great retention and leaves nice sheets of lacing. Aroma is grass, light cereal, citrus zest, and a touch of fruity, planty tartness, reminds me a bit of rhubarb. Flavor is sweet cereal, dusty grass, faint citrus, wet limestone, and a bit of hot alcohol if it gets near room temp. Palate is medium bodied, creamy and lightly carbonated, with a drier, slightly chalky finish. Not bad, but not a particularly good saison, not enough yeast character I think. Pretty though.

Aroma. bread, hay, light toast, citrus, herbs, grass, a touch of barnyard, rustic, banana, damp earthyness Appearence. pale, light straw in color, rocky head, white foam, hazy, right on for style Taste. light sweetness, lightly bitter, crisp and clean, again on point for style Palate. light body, thin feel, lively, fizzy, finish is crisp with a slight pesistence from the hops that carry a very herbacious undertone Overall. Quite impressed with this accurate rendition of a Saison. Brewer definitely understands the style.

I walked up to the counter with this, a Boulevard Saison Brett, and a Pelican IPA and the dude isolated the Nogne O and was like "that right there is an awesome beer". What on earth was he talking about? Those other brews are off the charts; this one on the other hand kind of sucked. Headache-inducing sweetness and thickness (although all things considered the flavor wasn’t THAT bad), drinkable but far from worth the price. An average saison at best.

On tap at Rattle N Hum. Pours a gently hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Soft musk and wheat. Lemony, crisp clean wheat. Nice musk with tones of banana and yeast on the finish with a little more wheat. Very clean and crisp, great hot weather beer.
