COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of our most refreshing brews, made for those hot summer days, but satisfying year ’round. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F. Goes well with seafood, particularly oysters.

Ingredients: Wheat and lager malt; East Kent Goldings and Crystal hops; Belgian ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

14°P, 25 IBU, 6.5 ABV.

500ml bottle. Batch 350 Bottled 02.04.08 BB 02.04.13 Hazy orange body. Quite a small dense white head for the style. Somewhat fruit nose, pears, citrus, candy banana, fair bit of clove spice, possibly some coriander in the works. Cereal malts in the background. Subdued carbonation for style, full bodied, not as dry as expected with a slight sour note. Nice flavours on the body; grapefruit, pear, spice, bit of hay, vanilla and honey sweetness. Finishes quite bitter, lingering spice. Quite a nice beer, thought i’d go as far as to consider it a Belgian-style blonde, rather than a saison. Doesn’t really have the lively body, zesty spicy flavour or the "funk" you come to expect in a good Saison.

500ml bottle. Pours a murky golden orange with a 1 finger thick off white head leaving some spotty lacing. Nose was lightly spiced with some some funk and maybe a little coriander? Crisp flavor with some spice and Belgian yeast funk. Pretty good, nothing great.

Hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish slightly off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, hay, caster sugar, wheat, coriander seed and a bit of citrus. Medium-bodied; Nice grassy taste up front then fades immediately to fresh hops, all finished with some subtle and refined malt - a bit of yeast, and a touch of citrus, nice and light. Aftertaste shows some dryness, a little alcohol and some bitter hops, pretty good. Overall, a good beer, not my favourite saison and one that doesn’t fit the style exactly, but still a well crafted beer. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando, Florida on 15-February-2009, sampled from home in Washington on 23-April-2009, the day the Red Wings advanced to the second round of the 2009 NHL Playoffs!

600 ml bottle in tulip. Hazy orange with lasting head and lace. Nice spicy orange yeasty aroma. Nice honey orange fruity sweetness with spicy mildly bitter clean finish. Medium body with effervescent carbo. Somewhat heavy example of the style but still nice flavors. Seems fairly fresh, which is encouraging.

Bottle. Big, frothy white head, mostly diminishing. Slightly hazy yellow body. The aroma has notes of herbs, lemon, mustiness, perfume and soap. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter with a light acidity. The finish is lighlty sweet and moderately bitter. Moderately dryness in the finish, but not near as dry as many saisons. Medium body with a velvety texture and lively carbonation. Similar in aroma and flavor to a wit. The soapy aroma and taste brought this down a few notches.

There is a lot of lemon in this fucker! Aroma is sour, some wheat, malt and lactic sourness. Pours like an under-carbonated, unfinished beer. Like an infected piss. Big, ugly bubbles. Taste is slightly carbonated, grainy, lemony, and a bit of dryness coming through; but mostly flabby lemon meringue. Finish is undercarbonated and flabby. Meh, but it tastes good.
