4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 EithCubes (3053) - GERMANY - JAN 12, 2008
Bottle. Big floral scent, flowers and a lot of coriander, rather spicy. Yeast is distinctly Belgian. Cloudy yellow pour with a ton of carbonation and a beautiful, dense, rocky, creamy white head that makes the look. Taste that coriander and candyish Belgian yeast, really dries out in the body, we’re talking Duvel levels, before finishing on a dry, bready note. Just a drop of vanilla. Leafy, herbal notes underneath the subtle citrus and perfumed hops. Deliciously floral, in fact. Lightish medium body, but doesn’t decompose into water and floating particulate; this is a solid, smooth blend. Easily one of the better Saisons I’ve had this year – well-made, traditional character, and enormously refreshing.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JK (3400) - Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 12, 2008
Not a very good saison, and this is a style I love. Light spice. Soap in the flavor, and I was drinking from a glass I am certain was clean. Light spice in the flavor as well. Cloudy like a wit, but not enough flavor. It does look nice and has a fair palate however.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 IrishBoy (3265) - Bakersfield, California, USA - JAN 10, 2008
500ml Bottle from Enniskillen from John’s Marketplace; Nose of light spices, grain, and very lite tartness; yellow with a small white head; flavor is slightly grainy and lagerish with some slight sweetness and light peppery spiciness. finish of light hop bitterness.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Guerde (960) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - JAN 10, 2008
(bottle at Cellars tasting) Poured a cloudy gold with a decent size white head. Nice aroma of spices with some funkiness in there too. The taste had a really nice interplay between sweet and spice, with the two battling it out in the mid-palate, but a yeasty finish dominates towards the end. A pretty good saison, one of the better ones I’ve tried.

Soft carbonation. Peppery finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Palidor19 (2296) - Brandon, Florida, USA - JAN 9, 2008
A low brow beer with some very herbal hops flavors. The palate is quite average. The rest brings an easy fruity ease.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 nick76 (3461) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 9, 2008
The aroma is funky with basement yeast, malt, hops, and fruit. The appearance is hazy gold with a small white head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin but smooth. Overall it’s alright and better than many of the style.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ratman197 (5536) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JAN 7, 2008
500 ml bottle poured a clear yellow with a minimal lingering white head. Aromas of straw, wheat, yeast, citrus and a faint hint of spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, bread, light citrus and a hint of spice with a crisp dry finish. A very drinkable beer but alas nothing special.
