One of our most refreshing brews, made for those hot summer days, but satisfying year ’round. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F. Goes well with seafood, particularly oysters.

Ingredients: Wheat and lager malt; East Kent Goldings and Crystal hops; Belgian ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

14°P, 25 IBU, 6.5 ABV.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a hazy straw-gold color with rising bubbles and a smallish foamy white head with short retention, and very little cling or lacing. Its aroma was a pleasant blend of floral scents with pine, yeast, wheat, and straw; perhaps some citrus fruit too. The taste was a sour fruity and floral mix with some herbal notes and bits of grain and yeast, along with a light sweet-bitter blend of citrus. It had a fairly lively and watery mouthfeel which was somewhat filling and crisp.

Draft at Churchkey for a meet the brewer event. Poured a slightly hazy dark orange color with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma was light, sweet yeast notes. Flavor was sweet, dry yeast character. Pretty tasty.

Pours a hazy, somewhat light golden colour, with a decent head that stays for a while and leaves a nice lacing. The aromas are pepper, hay, apples, berries, banana and sweet malts. The taste is sweet, and mildly bitter, although the finish is nice and dry. The body is medium, and the carbonation is very lively.

500ml bottle at home. Pours clear golden orange, thick white head. Aromas of peppery saison yeast, orange, hay. Taste is light bitter, more yeastiness. Oily texture, but clean finish. Good.

Clear orange beer with minimal head on top. Leaves little lacing behind. Aroma has grapefruits, lots of honey malt notes, wheat and little sour too. Taste is malty, honey, quite sweet and lightly sour and zesty. Pretty light body and high carbonation. A sadly disappointment from Nøgne Ø.

Pours a very light gold with a minimal white head. Slight aroma of malt, grains and fruit. Those flavors carry over to the taste. Just a touch of funk, and a bit of peat comes through as it warms. Light and crisp mouth. A very drinkable saison. It’s a nice change from a lot of the American farmhouse ales.

Brown 0.5L bottle 6.5% makes a fountain of foam out of the spout (open this in the sink), diminishing off white head, thick lacings, foggy bright yellow golden body. Scents of wheat malts mostly, oat and barley malts, fruits, berries, fresh leafy hops, Tastes very fruity malts, white bread, citrus notes, weak hints of banana, ginger and other spices. Very fresh n fruity on palate, normal body and carbonation. Finishes with a fruity bitterness with creamy malts, somewhat lingering. Showers of snow are pouring down in Tromsø, but this beer gave a feeling of summer. Thanks! #973 BBF27may15 b@vinmonopolet, tasted@home.

Ølsmaking Ambolten, Lys gylden med medium skum. Duften er markant gjær og søtlig malt, litt humle duft. Smaken er stort sett det samme. Fruktig.
