One of our most refreshing brews, made for those hot summer days, but satisfying year ’round. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F. Goes well with seafood, particularly oysters.

Ingredients: Wheat and lager malt; East Kent Goldings and Crystal hops; Belgian ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

14°P, 25 IBU, 6.5 ABV.

Frosted apricot colored beer topped with somewhat disappointing bright white uninspiring head. Soapy sweet tangerine nose w/ notes of ginger & flowers. Dry, straw-like flavors open w/ bitter astringency in the finish. Tangerine zest & kumquat notes clothe the dryness. Sharp alcohol heat hides underneath but seems to breath fire at times. The Bitterness seems to grow

Bottle. Hazy yellow colour with a white head. Yeasty aroma with citric & spicy notes, witbier-ish. Yeasty, fruity taste. Nice.

Pale blond color with only mild head formation even with a vigorous pour. Aromas of lemons, bubblegum, and spice. Flavor is light but satisfying. A sweetness is blended with a dry bitterness throughout. Pepper, honey, and citrus notes are noticeable making for a very pleasant taste.

Orange and unclear. Has a white head, fully lasting. Aroma of spice and herbs. Flavor starts sweet, finish heavy bitter, acidic too. Dry texture.

Poured from a 500ml bottle and served in a tulip. This saison poured a cloudy golden color with no head. Just a few small lingering bubbles left floating that eventually settled around the edge of the glass. A small amount of faint lace was left behind. The aroma of the brew was made up of pine, freshly mown grass, pepper, and other spicy yeast esthers. The flavor seemed a bit flat, but included notes of dry, lightly bitter pine, biscuit, orange peel, and very mild spices. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with light carbonation. Not bad, but the flavor seemed uninteresting. It did nothing to set itself apart from much more inspired brews done in this style. Still quaffable though.

Bottle @ Pig’s Ear Fest. Missed this at St. Albans so I went for it straight away. Hazy gold with a small white head. Was served way too cold and took a good while of cupping to produce any aroma at all. I eventually managed to get a whiff of grassy hops and tangerine. Taste is much the same, creamy with some slight peppery notes but the tangerine stood out most to me. Refreshing and easy drinking, although I had a minor delay with the nose I still downed the whole bottle quite quickly.

Hazy dark yellow our that produces a small, fleeting head of white. Dusty lemon aroma. What starts briefly as sweet, quickly turns bitter and dry as it moves into the finish. Tangy.

I wanted this to have a higher than 4.1 but a rate is what I see it is should be like englishish. Very nice, my sense of smell is about as good as Bert’s new coat so forget the smell. Looking into the glass I’m remembering beautiful women I’ve known. Which is a double edged chuzzwozzer. I am a big fan of this, I’ve been persuaded off upping my rate twice now and for good reasons. It’s the women on my mind. This isn’t the best I’ve ever had at all but I’d certainly rather drink this than a lot of stuff. No park bencher in a million yeas but not quite up there with my best. Nice, hope to hear more from this brewery. My first beer from Norway, would like more please.

Reddish gold, hazy. Aroma has citrus and berries, very fresh. Flavor adds yeast and hops, quite crisp. Feels rather smooth. Turns softer if you add the yeast, not as refreshing then. Very much recommended, as most other brews by Nøgne Ø.

500ml bottle. thanks to BlackForestCO for this great extra. pours hazy very light golden with small white head. nose of citrus, floral, coriander, and wheat. flavor is sweet biscuity, citrus orange, wheat, slightly minty, coriander, floral hops, and a biscuity finish. pretty full mouth feel and thin-med body. a bit fizzy carbonation but pretty smooth and clean finish. an interesting saison from norway but not attenuated enough.
