One of our most refreshing brews, made for those hot summer days, but satisfying year ’round. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F. Goes well with seafood, particularly oysters.

Ingredients: Wheat and lager malt; East Kent Goldings and Crystal hops; Belgian ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

14°P, 25 IBU, 6.5 ABV.

Enjoyed from a 16.9oz bottle in a stemless wine glass. The beer pours a nice medium yellow color, with a moderate white head. The nose is initially a bit unpleasant, showing grainy notes mixed with an unnamed aroma. However, as the beer warms, pleasant notes of lemongrass, southern hemisphere spices, and citrus come through. The palate reveals a well-brewed and conceived saison; light spice and lemon up front, a slight malt character in the mid-palate, and a dry finish. Mouthfeel and carbonation are appropriate to style. Overall, a very enjoyable example that, perhaps as an apt indication of this enigmatic style, takes its time to reveal its true beauty.

Tap. Pale yellow color. Medium size, white head, stays. Yeasty, bit minerals, faint fruity, sweet and some citrus in aroma. Sourish, grainy, minerals, some citrusy notes in taste. Carbonation is bit too high. Yeasty citrus in aftertaste. So so brew.

TAP Nøgne O food pairing for Matt's birthday. Bright hazy straw-gold. White head and thick foamy legs. Smells very nice - estery banana/spice, orange, yeast. Taste is similar. Very refreshing and more fruity/estery than farmy. Body is medium, fizzy carbonation, some citric tartness. Had with the pintxo de antxoa (yum!).
