Sour Brown is a brown ale which has spent 9 months on oak barrels. These barrels typically have lots of funny microbes hidden deep inside the wood. These do weird things with beer over time. This beer is slightly sour and refreshing. Have it with your favourite veggies or aged cheeses. Serve at 8 degrees C.

Huge dense tan head, spotty laceworks, dark dark brown body. Fermented sour berries to the nose. Sour taste, berries, prunes, fruits, ashy notes. Finishes short, peels of berries. Overall strange. 25cl btl #760 b@Vinmonopolet t@home.

Kort ettersmak. 0,25-flasken var en passelig dosering.

250ml bottle. Pours an opaque deep brown, with a large light beige head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. Strong sourness, oak, dark bread malt and fig make up the aroma. A strong sour lemon flavour up front mixes with a little oak leading into the mid-palate. This offers fig and rye bread flavours, combined with the persistent sourness, which lasts into the finish. This is quite a nice sour ale, I only wish it came in a slightly bigger bottle. 250ml really is too small, especially at the price.

Flaske, 25 cl.

Very dark reddish colour with a large and compacted light brown head with very good lasting and good lacing. Aroma has notes of red fruits, wood, vinous and yeasty. Flavor is mainly vinous with a high presence of wooden notes, plenty of yeastyness and sourness with hints of red grapes. Sourish final with a vinous character.

Dark reddish brown with a long lasting creamy head. Aroma is weird stingy, yeast and port wineish. Taste is really sour, malts, port wine, bitter. Wouldn't really know this was a brown ale if not said. Barrel notes dominate. Not very drinkable either. Short finish. Bleh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours muddy Brown with a small beige head. Aroma is malty sour with woody notes. Flavour is tart and acidic. Not over the top. Pretty good but probably ot worth the reddyz for such a small bottle.

Bottled 0,25 ltr @Pikkulintu
Dark brown, amber color, good beige head. Sour, wild yeast, a bit cellary nose. Medium-bodied. Fruity, sour flavor, some cellary notes. Oaky. Nice sourness but some earthy notes make this is a bit too "wild".
