Draught @ [ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012 ] @ Spartas Lokaler, Faelledparken in Osterbro, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Clear medium to dark amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted - caramel, candy, riped fruit, wood, oak, glue ! Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, candy sweet, oak, smoke. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120511]

Small beige head. Clear dark brown body. Syrupy tar and molasses aroma with roasty licorice notes. Sweet perfumy smoky spicy taste with musty vanilla notes. Full-bodied. Mild, flat, slightly hot mouthfeel. Dryish alcohol and vanilla aftertaste with smoky tarry lavender perfume notes. Too perfumy and sweet, but the base beer shines through and is still great. (0.15l sample at Haand 2012.)

Draft @ CBC 2012. Pours a brown dark amber color with a small off-white head. has a malty spicy woody vanilla and caramel aroma with smoky hints. Sweetish malty spicy woody smoky caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy woody smoky caramel and dark fruit finish.

Draft at Haand, courtesy of Ilsa, thank you ma"am! Dark maroon color, almost flat. Aroma of vanilla, espresso, milk chocolate. Taste is similar, with an edge of cognac. Nice.

On tap at Haand beer festival 2012. Very dark brown colour with a minimal head. Aroma is sharp with a weird blend of of sweet notes mixed with alcohol and nail varnish. The flavour is unfortunately not better. The nail varnish is even more dominant.

CBC. Black with a small light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, oak and peat. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 110512

Pours deep red chestnut with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma has sweet caramel, light reda pples, oak and mild smoke. Medium carbonation, fine creamy and rather dry mouthfeel. Flavour is powerfully smoky, some bacon, oak and light sticky sweetness. Despite being very smoky, it is still quite fresh and drinkable (and reminds me of our Oaked’n’Smoked :o) )

100ml, draught at CBC. Dark orange-brown body, near clear. Bare naked surface. Fruity malts to a wooden dry aroma. Lightly smoked taste mixed with mid-tart fruits and mid-sweet malts. Dry and sweet on the swallow. Likable (Copenhagen, 11.05.2012).

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration, cheers to Meilby the tapmeister! ;-) Deep nut brown body, small off-white head. Aroma is dark fruits, oak, cognac, booze, vanilla, hints of smoke and dark malts in the back. The smokiness seems very much subdued compared to the regular version. Taste is booze, heavy dry oak tones, smoke and cured ham. Hints of cognac and dark malts. Intensely oaked; in fact this may be the most wood-marked beer I’ve ever had. A fun experience, and another tasty beer from Nøgne Ø.
