5 years old when sampled. Black with a small diminishing brown head. Powerfull desert like aroma. Cocoa, toffee, coffee, vanilla and dark fruits like dates. Thick sticky palate. Again powerfull sweetness, but its complex and balanced by alchohol, so its not cloying. The complex sweet tastyness follows into the finish. Very good. Think the 5 years made it more balanced than a fresh one would be.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee and chocolate aroma with hints of dark fruit. Slightly sweetish roasted malty chocolate woody dark fruit flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and sweetish toffee finish with hints of dark fruit.

Aroma is quite stale and odd with licorice, soy sauce, hints of cocoa and alcohol. Flavour is sweet with licorice, brown sugar, syrupy notes and hints of soy sauce. Nicely warming alcohol in the finish. Very oily palate. Better than I expected.

From bottle. It pours deep black with a small dark brown head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with black chocolate and light liquorice notes. Taste is note as sweet as expected with a nice balance with black chocolate notes and light liquorice finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and surprisingly no apparent alcohol. Loads of chocolate. Good

Saveur: Goût de chocolat avec une pointe d’alcool et de café. Longue durée de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est plein avec une texture liquoreuse. Faible effervescence en bouche. Bottle via Pins in PA.. Nose is roasted malts... Sweet chocolate and fruit.. Taste is pretty much close to the nose... Sweet coffee roasted malts, fruity, chocolate notes, with licorice.. Sweet oily body.. Alcohol well hidden.

Kaatuu snifter-lasiin mustana ja vaahdottomana. Haju on ennen kaikkea maltaisen alkoholinen, mutta muitakin hajuja löytyy. Niihin kuuluu paahteisuus, lakritsisuus, suklaa ja yrttisyys. Maku on todella makean siirappisen maltainen, alkoholinen, paahteisen leipäinen, rusinainen ja suklaatakin löytyy. Suutuntuma on todella tahmea, lähes ällöttävän makea. Alkoholisuuskin tuntuu, mutta pistävyyden sijaan lämmittävyytenä. Kokonaisuutena uskomattoman makea olut, jossa ei 14% ole oikein saatu piiloon (onkohan se edes mahdollista?). Vähemmällä makeudella ja alkoholisuudella tämä voisi olla aivan maailmanluokan olut, mutta nyt vain keskitasoa.

De loins la meilleure de la série, café, mélasse, figues fraiches, chocolat, fudge et alcool bien sûr mais beaucoup plus en harmonie avec le reste du profil.

Shared by ygtbsm94. Thanks a lot, Brad! The beer is dark brown and viscous with just a slight, wispy, dark beige head. The head offers little retention and no lacing. The aroma offers malt, roast, and sweet booze. Though the beer is indeed sweet, it is very well done. Syrupy and viscous with low carbonation. This drinks like a sweet imperial stout. Very interesting. The reviews are all over the place on this one, but I rather enjoyed it. A small serving is ample, but I would certainly have this again. Full-bodied, perfect, taste lasts for a long time, suitably carbonated, textbook-like, not so distinctive.
