Sweet Horizon is dessert for the ones with a sweet tooth. Black and velvety, with hints of sweet chocolate, fruit, coffee, licorice......... Hmmmm! But remember, this is dessert, so do not try to have dessert with it!

Bottle at home. Has a deep brown to black, cola-like color with a small, light brown head that disappears quickly. Complex aroma where I pick up coffee, ash, leather, black currants, caramel, liqueur, oak, alcohol. The flavor follows up and is quite heavy and sweet with lots of taste. Here’s caramel, liqueur, oak, brown sugar, licorice, some chocolate, and ash and coffee in the aftertaste that lingers. Full-bodied, oily and sticky mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. A big dessert of a beer that is both very aromatic and tasteful. Heavy stuff and really complex.

Batch nr. 372. Brygget 30./06/2008. Best før: 30/06/2015.Har stått jevnt kaldt i kjelleren i mange år.

Bottle. Pours pitch sirupy black with non-exsisting head, very vinous. Aroma is heavy sweet, puddersukker, grapes, port and sherry, oxidised, kailua, coffee, sweet sugar, blackberries, liquor and malt. Taste is super sweet, definitely a sipper, puddersukker, caramel, fudge, sugar, sirup, sherry and port. Very sweet, liquorish, dry coffee, booze, subtle roast adds a tiny balane. Sticky and sweet as f... No balance. Full body.

0.25 L bottle from Bieropholie in a nice tin canister, served cool in a tulip glass. Brewed 30/06/2008, BB 30/06/2018.

App.: Deep brown-black with no head at all. Aroma: Intense molasses, quite sweet, lighter coffee notes, somewhat boozy, darker/blacker notes that border on black peppercorns. Palate: Medium-full body with sparse, fine, prickly carbonation, syrupy. Flav.: Moderately intense coffee, quite sweet, fairly fruity, plenty of booze, so sweet, dark chocolate, dessert for sure; intensely sweet with fairly high bitterness (balanced) and a long, inky, boozy, sweet malt and coffee finish.

Would be a great after dinner drink. I had dinner tonight...that counts.

Bottle. Aroma ashy, coffee, roasted, dark, rich, exquisite. Pitch dark colour. Taste is very sweet, kind of lactose-ish. Very rich malty character, lots of caramel, chocolate, also lots of alcohol. Brilliant beer.

Dark and handsome.

Bottled in 2008, so well aged. Has been in fridge most of the time since I got it. Alcohol and artificial pear/pistachio in the aroma on first smell, then coffee and something leathery-ish... Then bright, fruity. Notes of milk chocolate. Huh. Very sweet taste, with acidic notes. Very low carbonation. Flavor notes of raisin, coffee, licorice. Thick mouthfeel. Velvety smooth. Coates the mouth. The flavor keeps on giving, changing. Sometimes fruity, sometimes earthy/woody-ish. Roasty coffee-y finish. A whole lot going on here, and it’s hard to describe everything. Heavy stuff! Indeed a dessert in itself.

250 ml bottle. #372. Bottled on 30/06/2008. From Alko some years ago. Black colour with some red notes and no head. Roasted malt, berries, alcohol and some coffee in the aroma. The flavour is sugary sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol vinous elements and some liquorice. The coffee is very subdued. Alcohol warms a lot. A bit too sweet for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
