COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet Horizon is dessert for the ones with a sweet tooth. Black and velvety, with hints of sweet chocolate, fruit, coffee, licorice......... Hmmmm! But remember, this is dessert, so do not try to have dessert with it!

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Deep opaque brown body with reddish highlights, no head. Nose with alcohol heat, molasses, coffee bean, cocoa, and fruits/sugar, mainly berries. Inky body with huge burnt sugars, molasses, and berries. Overcharged and cloying.

Opaque black beer. Good light brown head, short lived. Milky coffee nose. Very sweet coffee, sugary sweet. Very slight tang. Warmth from the alcohol. Mild minerals. Whisper of hop in the finish. Achieves it’s aim of being a dessert beer but could use some more complexity.

Bottle courtesy of ygtbsm94. Served in a sampler glass. Pours near black with a short head that recedes quickly into a thin collar. Nose carries nice chocolate and coffee notes. Some booze. Flavor is a bit too sweet and boozy. Chocolate notes in the background. Quite a bit of sweetness. Medium-full body. Interesting and worth a try, though not something that I’d seek out again.

Bottle. Very rich dark black pour, small ring of carbonation and a very strong alcoholic aroma of dark chocolate and fresh ground coffee beans. Flavor is very sweet dark fruit, some more chocolate and very, very syrupy coffee flavoring on the aftertaste. This almost seems more like a liqueur than a beer. I like sweet beers, and this was still a little too much for me. Glad I waited for this one to go on sale before picking it up.

Bottle at home, from my MTH glass. Pours thhick black, no head, no lacing. Nose is sweet soya sauce, nail polish remover, coffee, pencil shavings, graphite, vanilla complex, but not entirely appealing to the nose... Flavours of SUGAR!!!!!! as well as caramel, candy corn, did I mention sugar? The sweetness actually does an admirable job of masking the alcohol... Complex, but I wouldn’t want another bottle....

Bottle in canister. Pours oily black. Thin tan head that quickly dissipates. Nose/taste of sour cherries, sweet chocolate, fruits, black licorice, coffee and dark roasted malt. Nose is more roasty. Taste is super mouth puckeringly sweet - too sweet. Some warming alcohol in finish. Medium body.

25 cl bottle. Batch #372. Brewed on 30.06.2008. BBE 30.06.2015.

Pours pitch black color with a very light beige head on the sides. Aroma of vanilla, dark toasted malts, caramel notes, dark and somewhat milky chocolate, faint tar and syrup. Mild liquorice as well. The first thing on the taste is an intense burst of sugary sweetness, some syrup and caramel as well. Mocha-like dark chocolate, toasted malts, vanilla and oak follow the sugary rush. Very sweet palate with a surprisingly mild alcohol burn at the end. Still very sweet after almost two years and I’m guessing it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Very tempting and rich aroma is followed by a tad too sweet mesh of flavors, although the sweetness fits here quite nicely considering my lack of a sweet tooth.

Here comes the dessert straight out of the bottle. Genie in a bottle :-) Black colour with almost no head. Sweet caramel and fruity aroma. Massive sweet flavour with some alcohol. Coffe, caramel and some fruitiness.
[Bottle from Vinmonopolet]
