COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet Horizon is dessert for the ones with a sweet tooth. Black and velvety, with hints of sweet chocolate, fruit, coffee, licorice......... Hmmmm! But remember, this is dessert, so do not try to have dessert with it!

Gloopy dark brown pour with no head. Massive syrupy sweetness with raisin, truffle, brownie, and fig abounding. Sugary chocolate dark fruit prevails throughout. Sticky sweet syrupy body with a smacking finish. One dimensional and far too cloying for me.

THOUGHTS: Tons of coffee. Layer upon layer of it really. And plenty of alcohol. Overly sweet, though. I had hoped two years of aging would have dried it out a little. Just glad I didn’t try it fresh. This could probably age for another 10 years. It went nicely with peanut butter. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark brown that was opaque black in the glass with virtually no head, but what little was there was light brown and left only a slight ring where the beer met the glass. The aroma had heavy SUGAR and both mild and strong coffee; hints of chocolate; licorice; and alcohol. The initial flavor was heavily sweet; while the finish was harshly sweet and alcoholic with a long duration. There was all sorts of coffee including coffee liqueur, sugar, cream, a little dark fruit, alcohol, coffee, candy and chocolate. The medium to full body was very oily with rather soft carbonation and a slightly metallic and moderate to heavily alcoholic finish.

Aroma has sweet licorice and dark coffee and chocolate, syrup. Black with no head. Taste is really sweet, full body, soft, velvet feel, no carbonation, sweet finish, bit sherry flavor here. Oh yeah, oh hell yeah. Alcohol is well hidden. Recommended.

The aroma is SUPER sweet with coffee, licorice, burnt malt, and maple syrup. The appearance is still with no head and black in color. The taste is like the aroma and cloyingly sweet to the point of absurdity. The palate is uncarbonated and thick. The beer has a novelty appeal but not one of the greats.

Pours a pure black color. Aroma is of wine, sweet malts, molasses, black cherry, and vanilla. Full bodied. Flavor is unnecessary sweet. Cherry, malts, sweet and low, and sugar. Leaves a very sweet malt finish. A good try at a dessert beer, but just..........no.

Small bottle from World of Wines (Lambertville, NJ) in August 2012 -- so still for sale there. Dark black body with thin tan head. Nose is sweet, malty, sugar, coffee, licorice, molasses and caramel. Taste is sweet and sharp, with fruits and coffee and chocolate. Then warms up and becomes more chocolate and coffeelike. Very enjoyable indeed.

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Deep opaque brown body with reddish highlights, no head. Nose with alcohol heat, molasses, coffee bean, cocoa, and fruits/sugar, mainly berries. Inky body with huge burnt sugars, molasses, and berries. Overcharged and cloying.

Opaque black beer. Good light brown head, short lived. Milky coffee nose. Very sweet coffee, sugary sweet. Very slight tang. Warmth from the alcohol. Mild minerals. Whisper of hop in the finish. Achieves it’s aim of being a dessert beer but could use some more complexity.
