COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
21°P, 35 IBU.
Ingredients: Malted barley, wheat, malted wheat, sugar, hops, yeast and local Grimstad water. It is very difficult to brew a complex and balanced Belgian-style tripel ale, but we have made an attempt at brewing one anyway! Our respect and admiration for those who master the skill and art of brewing excellent ale of this style is limitless. Tripels often pair with cheese, seafood and fresh vegetables.

Odd herbal medicinal aroma, some phenolic aspects. Clear gold, small head. Light perfumey retronasals, very floral. Remarkably light palate, no 9% at all. Plenty of light grains, fairly malty and sweet, floral. Good tripel. Finish light perfumey grains. Nailed it.

Tap. Cloudy orange color. Medium size, white head, stays. Faint citrus, orange, fruity, juicy aroma. Weak aroma. Peat, smoked, grainy, citrusy orange peel, fruity, juicy taste. I love how peat and orange mix in aftertaste. It’s like redheads in miniskirts, instant bononon..... Nothing says it’s 9%. Soft carbonation enhances tingly orange esters and makes it complete. Awesome brew!

Tasted at the TAP Nøgne O food pairing for Matt's birthday. Had with chicken batter bacon with mayo. Bright gold-amber, white head, huge foamy legs. Peat smoked malt and semi-refined sugar. Smells yeasty, estery spice and orange, small amount of smoke, sweet slightly clove finish. Tastes of citrus, yeast, ever so slightly smoky. Body is sweet and a little grassy, fizzy carbonation.

Fifth beer at Nøgne TAP birthday lunch. Hazy opaque golden sunny pour. Aroma is very yeasty - banana and maybe coconut. Spice. Honey. Like an amped up version of the saison in some ways. Taste also like a rounder more smokey saison - same peppery clove notes, honey, richness. Some booze. Lasting honey yeastiness. Not bad.

Pours a hazy golden with a small white head that leaves a thin lacing. Sweet and fruity aroma of malt, yeast, citrus and some hay. Full body, creamy feel, average carbonation. Taste is also sweet with some bitter herbs, smoke and a backbone of alcohol. Lingering fruity finish.

Old rating rerated 17.04.2015, 0,5l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry grainy, yeast, flowers, dried grain, minerals, grass, citrus peel, weeds, hints of something sulfury. Taste is sweet, candied sugar, yeast, flowers, grass, citrus peel, minerals, weeds, grain, dried fruits. Medium bitterness, sweet and slightly harsh mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea. Used to be a lot better many years ago, specially when it had a tiny smoky touch in it.

500ml bottle. 23-05-2015.
BBD: 24-01-2015.
In short: watery tripel.
Pours quite clear deep golden with nice white head. Short head retention, poor lacing. Malty, caramel, yeasty, fruity, some polish aromas. Medium body, average to soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is quite sweet, alcohol noticed, some fruity. Dry aftertaste. A bit watery and boring.
