Ingredients: Malted barley, wheat, malted wheat, sugar, hops, yeast and local Grimstad water. It is very difficult to brew a complex and balanced Belgian-style tripel ale, but we have made an attempt at brewing one anyway! Our respect and admiration for those who master the skill and art of brewing excellent ale of this style is limitless. Tripels often pair with cheese, seafood and fresh vegetables.

0,5l bottle from duty free at Flesland. Hazy, orange, minimal head. First whiff right after uncapping screamed pilsner, for some reason. Low carbonation. Glassed aroma is sweet, yeasty, apple, malt, dry wood, and some gum. "Typical" Belgian aroma, even though that’s not really a thing. This is what I would expect from an abbey double or tripel. Smooth, hides the ABV well, fruity, yeasty and lovely. Very sweet flavour that hides alot of the yeast, as well. Perhaps a bit too mild and kind, but still a very good beer.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2015 Head with larger bubbles dissipate fast, honey colour with haze thick enough I can’t see through. Nose of tripel sour, sugary and yes thirdly, peat. Though later the sugary side seems slightly cherry sweet, hint of alder bark and alcohol. Interesting. Tastes of tripel with weird bitter notes and is rather low on alcohol(carbonated water). I think peatsmoke makes this bitter and then changes in the background where the initial bitter becomes cherry bitter, there’s a whiff of smoke and lastly sweeti’sh peat on the palate. Surprised how little alcohol for 9%. The slight let down could be the abbey part on initial taste that is kind of muddy and what could actually benefit from alcohol spark. This needs livening on the initial tasting and some additional cherry or barley notes. Toward the palate overall improves.

Orange brown opaque beernwith a weak head. Subtle bubbling. Peppery bitter smell with dried fruit sweetness. Dried peaches. Hints of cherries, caramel. Lightly alcoholic. Some very subtle meatiness, maybe smokiness. Taste is sweet with quite a lot of alcohol. Hints of bitterness, but it stays undefined. You can vaguely sense some umami. The heavy sweetness skews the balance.

Bottle@ Porgu, Tallinn. 26.11.2016. Batch # 1317. Unclear orange/amber,  thin white head.  Orange peel,  yeast,  mild tartness,  hint of smoke. Flavor has peat,  yeast,  sweet oranges.  Long fruity finish.  Tad too sweet for me,  but an interesting combination.

Bottle@porgu. Yellow golden hazy. Good clean belgy yeasty spices- coriander, some pepper, clove, pretty clean refreshimg feeling though. Med full bodied, nice bitters and balance. Sweets, malts, good pale breadyness. Quite a nice tripel. Isnt difficult oversweeten, goes easy for the abv.
