COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
21°P, 35 IBU.
Ingredients: Malted barley, wheat, malted wheat, sugar, hops, yeast and local Grimstad water. It is very difficult to brew a complex and balanced Belgian-style tripel ale, but we have made an attempt at brewing one anyway! Our respect and admiration for those who master the skill and art of brewing excellent ale of this style is limitless. Tripels often pair with cheese, seafood and fresh vegetables.

50 cL bottle, courtesy of yngwie. Pours a hazy yellow to light orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild spiced, caramelish and light roasted, I didn’t pick up the smoke before after the first sip - rather subdued. Fruity and yeasty flavoured, mild spiced - classic triple yet with a subtle smoke note. Interesting although I’m not so sure the smoke adds much to the brew. Slight alcohol warmth in the finish.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt and fruit as well as a light note of smoke. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, smoke, alcohol, and fruits - especially peaches, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

Cloudy amber beer. Sourish malt nose. Dry and a slightly soft palate. Light creamy malt and that typical tripel sweetness and soft spice. Not much fruit in this one though. Finish is over and dry and grates.

2012-05-11, draught at Danske Ølentusiasters Ølfestival 2012, Copenhagen, 7-3-8-3-15=36
Muddy light amber color. Some wheat and spices aroma. The flavor is both sweet and spicy, with coriander and bitter oranges, quite true.
I like it.

2011-02-01, draught at Ørsted, Copenhagen, 6-3-6-3-12=30
Cloudy blond color. The aroma shows some fruits, sweetness, dirty water. Strong, a bit boozy, with mellow malts, and completely missing the point of a Belgian Tripel (in the American style, so to say). Correct bitterness. Not impressive.
