COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
21°P, 35 IBU. Ingredients: Malted barley, wheat, malted wheat, sugar, hops, yeast and local Grimstad water. It is very difficult to brew a complex and balanced Belgian-style tripel ale, but we have made an attempt at brewing one anyway! Our respect and admiration for those who master the skill and art of brewing excellent ale of this style is limitless. Tripels often pair with cheese, seafood and fresh vegetables.

Bottle 500ml from Purvis. Exceptional beer, very well balanced. Aromas of caramel, nuts, bread, and orange. Taste is sweet, with sour and bitter notes. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Yellow, cloudy, with a frothy head.

My favorite beer from Nøgne Ø! Pours a great head and it’s golden i color. Complex aroma with a lot of action. Medium to full in body. A really great beer all in all.

Thin quickly fading head, hazy dark orange body. Smells of sourdough, floral notes and honey. Strong honey taste with some orange in the finish. Tasty stuff. Would make a nice light dessert pairing.

50 cl bottle at home. Hazy yellowish color, big white head. Aroma is fruit, spices and yeast - the most Belgian from NØ so far. Flavor is also typical begian, with some hops and fine sweetness (it´s sweet, but imo not TOO sweet). There´s a lot of smoked malt in this beer. The smoke is very much in the background, but it is there, and it makes this tripel very complex and very drinkable!

50cl bottle at Olympen. Batch 414. Brewed 2009-03-04. Best before 2014-03-04. It poured a light golden colour with a huge white foamy head. The aroma is a bit spicy, hoppy and with notes of yeast. Some malts. The flavour is also spicy and hoppy. Some yeast, alcohol, wheat and brown sugar. I can’t decide if it reminds me more of Orval or Westmalle Tripel. The aftertaste is a bort short.

yeasty, fruity aroma with honey, coriander and apricos undertones. Some pepper. Very cloudy, nice firm head, huge laces. Very well balanced, heavy palate but not to much, very nice stuff

On tap at the grunnerløkka brygghus, pours a light golden color with a nice thick foamy head. nose is banana, lots of vanilla, some barnyardy funk going on as well. Taste is slightly sweet with hints of banana, caramel, lots of malt, lots of body, incredible mouthfeel and not hinting to 10% ABV. Caramel finish.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.0%. Hazy brownish yellow colour, huge white head. Lovely aroma of Belgian ale yeast, fruits and spices. The flavour is fairly sweet (maybe a tad too sweet? - or maybe not) with a distinct spiciness, some fruit and noticeable hops. Good stuff.

Bottle. Poured as you might expect ... pure copper, thin head. The aroma is sweet, grassy and vaguely bubble-gummy. The beer drinks with an almost chewy aspect, like gummy bears in a glass -- mildly yeasty and fruity, just like the candy in a bag. Delish. (#4183, 7/21/2011)
