COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Tindved is a sour Norwegian ale brewed with Norwegian malted barley and raw wheat. We added juice from pressed sea buckthorn to obtain the brash sourness. Nøgne Ø ales are unfiltered and unpasteurized so pour carefully if you want to leave the natural yeast in the bottom of the bottle.

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer topped by a small, dense, off-white head. Fresh aroma of berries, leather, citrus peel and barnyard. Some lightly spiced hints. Peppery. Oily mouthfeel, dry and pleasantly carbonated. Mild, berry flavor with a peppery hint, citrus notes and even more berries. Lasting finish with berries and some peppery hints. Sure not the most extreme sour beer I’ve had, but it’s easy drinkable and tasteful. Really pleasant to drink. 130304

Bottle. Wild ale indeed, came gushing out. Aroma is very tardy and sour, with acidic spice. Taste is sharp and harsh, with horseblanket, brett, forrest herbs and a little old grassy hops. Strange beer, interesting though.

Bottle, BBE 12/03/15. As the cap is cracked, the beer starts to pour out. After some cleaning the beer poured yellowy orange with a small, white head. Aroma is berries, sour, light oak, some balsamic. Taste is red berriness, rowanberry, sour, balsamic vinegar, caramel, lightly sweet. Not that pleasant. Very high carbonation, fairly light. Unpleasant, Feels too old.

0.25l bottle at The Local Taphouse. Pours light amber with a medium, quickly dying head. Punchy nose, quite aggressive, but clearly sour. Taste is fresh, crispy carbonization, hints of vinegar at first, well-crafted sourness, surprisingly easy to drink. Dry finish. Good, but a bit too expensive over here.

Gushing to... no head! over fully hazy orange beer. Sourish wild yeast, (pedio?), barnyard. Sour, lactic, bit spicy, other grains too, wheat. Some citrus. Feels very carbonated. Faint slickness, maybe medium bodied. Seems a bit "forced" on the wild yeast.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, nr Gent, Belgie consumed at home Friday 23rd January 2015 Mmhhh. never had buckthorn before and not entirely sure where it is or what it contributes here but its a pleasant enough sour/wild ale. Pours hazy gold a little funky aroma not sure if I get a salty tang. A steady tart/sourness to this, fruity with a little bite and edge to it, moving towards a dry finish. Nice beer. Not a bad one here shared with McTapps. Sour in its taste with a bit of skunk behind. Some berries in the aroma with raspberry in the dominance. Definitely drinkable and refreshing. Nice one.

Bottle from Meilby - thank you, Kenni! The beer has got a hazy light amber colour with an explosive body and steady low head. Aroma of old bread and acid. Taste of unpleasant acidity, green bread, dust, basement and rotten fruits. Didn’t enjoy it.

Bottle from Bottle Park. Wheat noticeable in the aroma, otherwise brett, hay, horse blanket. Gusher. Relatively clean golden to orange colour when poured without sediment. Poor head. TAste follows the established direction, bretty wheat with a horsey hay element. Enjoyable, but no stunner.

(Bottle) Pale golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, sour nose with brett yeast, sea buckthorn, cloud-berries, hay, earth and barnyard. Fruity, sourish taste with notes of tart berries, sea buckthorn, cloud-berries, spicy yeast, hay, unripe grapes and a dry, tart finish. Medium body, quite dry. Sour and fresh with a lots of berry character. Nice one.
