15.09.2014, tap @ Pingvinen:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is mild and slightly sweet, caramel malts, chocolate milk, dark sugar, grass, hay, oak, vanilla, alcohol. Taste is slightly dry boozy, burnt caramel, oak, whiskey, minerals, weeds, grass, hay, sour coffee, hints of butterscotch. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough, but not really my cup of tea...

Where to start….just a cousy evening at Sara in Oslo with some friends. A new creation from Nøgne Ø. Well Brown ale have never been my favorite. But I like most of the creations from Nøgne Ø. And some are really horrible. But I have to try. That is how the disease work. So here we go. Pour it up and get it down. Clear deep amber (very close to black) color with a lovely tan head that makes one hell of a lacing. Aroma…..brown ale my a….. My nose went bananas. Not much banana in here, but roasted malt, oak, vanilla, fruity and some cherry. Full thick body and slightly sweet. Really creamy and smooth texture. Flavor…..aahhhhh I could sip on this the whole evening. Sherry, oak, vanilla, fruity, some spices and nutty. Well hidden alcohol. Ohhhhh what a lovely complex and well balanced brew. Brown ale are still not my favorite, but this one sure is! Must try to find a bottle or three.

200ml from tap at Café Sara, some of the content was shared with OleR. Beige, patchy surface to a deep ,dark brown coloured body. Aroma of oak vanilla joined by brown malts, mild vapour of alcohol. Vanilla taste together with dried fruits and roasted malts towards the ending. Warming alcohol to it. Full bodied. Fine sipper qualities (Oslo 20.06.2014).

Tap. Clear copper color. Small size, yellow head, stays. Hops, pine, bit sour and touch of wood in aroma. Cough syrup, sweet, anise, chocolate in taste. Slightly burnt body. Anise in aftertaste. Takes more than few sips to get used to it. But when you do this beer becomes highly drinkable.

Tap (Cuda na Kiju, Warsaw) (8:4+:8+:5:16+=4.1+++)
Beautiful barrel aged sweet butteriness. Maple syrup sweetness. Gentle roast, nicely nutty. This is too good to tick. With each sip I just want to savour the sweet heady woody vapours, swallow slowly and let the succulent fluid gently slide down, and then feel the rush of the vapours up the back of my nose, and then say "wow" again. I certainly don’t want to be scribbling stupid notes. Wow. I had to have a second one, I just had to; it was a simply delightful sipper. Thank you, Nogne!

Clear deep brown body with a small light brown head. Wooden peat caramel nose. Petroleum, alcohol, oakey flavors, faint hints of mocca and a sweet alco warmth. Full bodied with a long finish.

Deep brown body with a light but long-lasting head. Great aroma with hints of bourbon and coffee. Very rich taste, vanilla, coffee - a lot going on here, however it’s extremely drinkable. Highly recommended!

On tap at Café Sara, Oslo. Clear mahogany with a small, but lasting tan head. Aroma of malts, vanilla, caramel, dark dried fruits, bourbon and hints of spices. Initial thought was that it was too sweet and too much vanilla. Felt more balanced after a while. Still quite sweet snd lots of vanilla, but complex and enjoyable. Nice sipper.
