COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
18 degrees P, 30 IBU, 8 vol% alk.: Pale Belgian ale. Refreshing, with low bitterness and a low key malt profile. Demara sugar gives a fine roundness, and our Belgian yeast assures fruitiness. This is a natural companion for cheese. Recommended serving temperature 10 degrees Celsius.

50cl bottle at Patricks. Batch 69. Best before 2009-03-30. It poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a small white head that settled down fast in the glass. Aroma is a tad sour, reminds me a lot of a white wine. Some hops and yeast. Flavour is more well-rounded. Oxidized, with notes of sweet malts, light caramel and brown sugar. Some fruits. A medium long aftertaste. A big thanks to Erik and Lars at Patricks for finally giving me the opportunity to sample this beer.

Orange-brown with thin white head. Aroma of alcohol, fruit, spices, phenols, dried fruit and mushrooms. A flavour of dried fruit, malt and phenols. Fresh with some bitterness.

[From the archives] Aroma gives flashback to a medicine mixture from childhood. Not good. Overly sweet mouthfeel with caramel and a touch of hops. Three letters: B A D. Also, I’m quite surprised to find two very negative Nøgne Ø reviews in this stack of old ratings. I’ve had such good beers from them on other occasions.

50 cL bottle, thanks to Storm. Aroma is light malty to light spiced aroma. Flavour is dry spiced with a light sweet malt flavour. Goes into a lingering spice finish. Nice brew, yet simple.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2007 50 cl bottle. Batch# 51, BB 30.03.09. Hazy golden/brown color, small white head. Very sweet. Yeast, fruit, alcohol. Far from the best from NØ. (RBNAG’07 in Grimstad Nov. 3th.)

bottled, rbesg06. somewhat murky orange, off-white head. wheaty aroma, hints of wildflowers, dull texture, some sharp citric flavours mingling uneasily with faintly nutty malt. a bit messy, maybe it was past its best

Golden with a big-bubbly head. The aroma is fruity and malty. The flavour is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, light fruit and a very light bitterness and alcohol. It’s too sweet and not balanced and far from the usual good quality, that Nøgne Ø normally is. Thank you Yngwie. 2308

Bottle. Tiny beige head quikliy fading into i ring of bubbles sticking to the glass. Soft, almost flat carbonation. Muddy dark orange body. Lots og sediments left on the bottom of the bottle. Prominent yeast aroma. Also a pleasant fruitiness (sweet citrus and dried dark fruits), caramel and spice. Sweet taste: Milk-caramel, candysugar, mild bittering hops, sweetish fruits and a good amount of yeast. A slight alcohol heath in the mouth all the way towards the finish. A fair Tripel from Nøgne Ø, but too soft carbonation and a bit out of balance. (Thanks to Beer_2000)
