On draft at Monk’s Cafe on 2012-09-02. Thin film of foam at top. Coppery-orange color. Citrus aroma with balanced malt. Full body, coats the mouth and throat. Warming alcohol presence. Spicy hop notes with a balacnced malt flavor. Very good! I’ll probably never see this one again, although I wish I did.

Tap 33cl. Grünerløkka Brygghus. Nice white sidesticking head. A citric fruity aroma, hard to tell. Sweet rotten pear perhaps. Sweet taste of syrup and sugar. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

50 cl bottle. Batch #937. Brewed on 12.03.2013. BBE 12.03.2015.
A lot crispier and floral hops on this bottle, lots of exotic fruits and some caramel. Some resin also. Resiny hops on the flavor also, mandarin, caramel and goose berries. Definitely better than I remembered.
50 cl bottle @ Gastropub Nordic, Tampere.

Pours amber color with a medium head. Aroma of hops, fruits, mild caramel and grass. Flavor of hoppy fruits, caramel, some malty notes and hay. A bit stuffy but ok.

Good medium strong aroma has caramel toffee, fruits, hoppiness. Hazy orange, beige head is thin. Taste has also slightly roasted toffee, warm alcohol, light spicyness. Full bodied, velvety soft, light carbonation, good bitter finish is medium long. Wonderful beer, fondles your mind and soul.

500 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours very hazy reddish orange color with a nice 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Some good foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, pine, grapefruit, pineapple, orange zest, herbal, floral, mango, grass, bread, and earthy spiciness. Very nice aromas with good strength, balance, and complexity. Taste of grapefruit, pine, orange rind, pineapple, caramel, bread, floral, herbal, and light earthy spiciness. Fair amount of earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, caramel, bread, grass, pineapple, herbal, floral, and earth on the finish for a good bit. Great balance and complexity of hop flavors; with a nice bitterness/sweetness balance. No cloying flavors at all after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy, slick, and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed at all after the finish. Overall this was an excellent DIPA, despite however old it may have been. Very nice flavor balance and complexity; extremely smooth to sip on. Really enjoyed this one.

Draft at Farmer’s Cab with Pat. Pours a deep murky orange body with white lacing. Aroma is bitter hop, resin and bitter citrus fruit. Mouthfeel is bitter with notes of citric hops, light pine, grapefruit rind, sweet malt base and a lingering bitterness. Okay.

Hazy dark orange-amber body. Moderate sized off-white head. Streaking lacing. Nose is fairly malty but is accentuated by floral/grapefruit notes and a bit of sticky resin. Flavor is similar, but is weakened by a pricky malt profile and hops that don’t deliver the same intensity as in the aroma. Medium bodied, assertive carbonation, prickly, crisp bitter finish.

Bottle. Brown, slightly amber body. Large fluffy off-white head. Hoppy aroma, almost metallic, some fruit and hints of coffee. A little sour. Hoppy flavour with a quite heavy malty sweetness. Heavy bitter finish. (At home, 26.02.2011)

Draft at Capone’s. Slightly light amber color with just a little head. Aroma is subdued, but there are notes of citrus fruits and slight pine. The flavor is really complex. It is both complex, showing a great amount of fruitiness, citrus fruits, even some apricots and maybe even some peach, but it also is incredibly easy to drink. Not hop-bombish bitter, but still has a lot of the over to the top characteristics. Really nice.
