3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle, 3.Mar.2012
Slightly hazy amber body, with small head that rapidly diminishes and leaves patchwork on top and glass. Very pleasant and rich aroma, sea, citrus black elder flowers, buttercup, chervil and wet grass after rain. This impression is mirrored also in taste. Very smooth and well balanced. With grilled stockfish dinner @ Arctandria, Tromsø.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear golden with an interesting head. Has a big mealty quality in the finish. Balanced, hops are in control. Frothy smooth. Nice but not wondrous. (tap at Bacchus, Newcastle)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2013 Bottle. Pours with an enormous head, cascading into a light amber beer with no activity, surprisingly. The aroma is sweet and woodsy. It drinks with the same sweet bite, along with a resiny mouthfeel. Quite astringent. (#4701, 7/19/2012) <<Tried again on draft at the Birch and liked it better. Still quite resinous, not too astrigent>>

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Fruity aroma of citrus, pinapple, peaches, also with some pine and spruce maybe? Aftertaste is bitter, but good balance with the malt. Full bodied, with a almost creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Will definitley have this one again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel for the malt, light to moderate grapefruit peel and cooked orange for the hops, light leather for the yeast and date, alcohol and solvent in the background. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with some spots of lacing but good legs and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky orange/tan. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and acidic, then the long finish is lightly to moderately sweet and aicdic and heavily to harshly bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, creamy with a soft carbonation and a finish that’s moderately alcoholic, and both drying and sticky. A little harsh in spots, but this is still a very interesting DIPA.

From a bottle poured an amber color with a fair amount of head. Strong hoppy flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Yellow, dense medium head over hazed orange-amber beer. Some UFO’s. Rather intense (muscat)grapey hops’ nose. Cakey malts, sweet and aromatic-bitter smelling. Bitter-hoppy, but also toasted to nearly burnt lining. Faint fruity, as in citruspeel, but not much depth. Retronasal, I get a short, but recurrent strange whiff of ammonia. Hopoils give it a certain astringency; medium bodied, very slick. Excellent nose, but the beer itself is a tad unidimensional.
