Bottle. Batch 808. Pours deep amber, slightly hazy. Small, but dense off white head. Strong, citrusy and piny aromas immediately, even before sticking my nose into the glass. When I do, I get a strong, floral aroma with some tropical fruit thrown in. Also some resin. Lovely! Full bodied mouthfeel. Full taste as well, with good combination between sweetness and bitter. Well balanced. Very good DIPA.

Hoppy biscuity aroma. Roasted malts and hops. Surprising how high the abv is. The alcohol is well hidden below the heavy malt a piney hops. Cool beer.

8.5%ABV. double IPA Poured out of the bottle a deep rich Amber. 16°SRM. Nose has sweet tangerine, orange, mandarins. Mouthfeel is syrupy. Deep malty palate with slightly disjointed transition to hops, alcohol and then the finish. The malt flavors are predictably toasty, nutty like pecans, walnuts, graham cracker. Palate is hefty and there is an umami roundness to it. Finish is bitter, herbaceous, piney and resinous. Aggressive hop palate. Hop balanced. Overall, vested with great ingredients in oodles, just a little hamfisted in general to be truly good. I appreciate the effort! Love you guys although Two Captains won’t be making it to the favorites list.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks Shmupi. Orange golden with a big head. Smell of stale fruity hops, orange jam and caramel. Sweet-sour with some fruitiness and caramel, strong hops bitterness, a bit harsh and not balanced. Medium-bodied, not fresh enough.

Bottle sample at Vova’s Hoppy Beerthday tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin, Tel Aviv. Thanks Shmupi. Deep golden-orange with white head and some particles. Piney aroma, some citrus, skunky with notes of socks. The flavor has medium hoppy bitterness, piney with some citrus (orange), sweetish, old and unbalanced, dry. Medium-bodied.

Amber, medium head, some lacing. Not intensive fruity and citrus aroma, taste malty sweet, balanced with medium bitterness and some alcohol on finish. It is drinkable but nothing extraordinary. If the recipe is the same as in 2010 it is no surprise this beer today is not that spectacular, as it was 5 years ago. 100 IBU? No way.

Murky orange colour with a heavy off-white head, aroma of oranges, mangoes, hops, lemons, sweet caramel, candied citrus peel and a lot more delicate flavours. Lots of grapefruit, loaded with hops, really good DIPA
