3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Living in Belgium, I have the great privilege of being surrounded by some of the best beers in the world. However, one thing is missing: hops! Luckily, I also have the privilege of being centrally located in Europe, and thus a short train ride from Paris, home of one of the coolest beer stores I’ve ever been to: Brewberry. Which is where I purchased this fine specimen from Nogne O. From 0.5L bottle into Lagunitas mason jar. Pours dark bronze with off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is rich piney hops. Taste super earthy and deep--tons of dirt in the finish. Very chilled out and smooth--despite being boozy, it doesn’t drink like it. Palate stays pretty dry. Somehow a double IPA that doesn’t overdo it and turn into a hop bomb--I like it.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy, dark orange beer with a lot of chips of yeast floating around. Small white head. Beautiful, sweet, exotic, dried orange fruits on the nose. Medium to full body. Huge bitterness. A little crispiness in the mouth feel, otherwise pretty smooth. Grape fruit, grass, pine needles. A really good DIPA.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a thick and cloudy amber and smells of bitey hops, citrus fruits and blood oranges. The taste is very refreshing but, unlike the best IIPA’s you can taste the alcohol volume, because some strong, harsh alcoholic notes are evident here

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A bit from memory. Very powerful and bitter taste. Fills the mouth. Good and refreshing aroma, citrusy and very hoppy. I prefer IPAs over IIPAs, but this is indeed a good IIPA (better than their #500 in my opinion).

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a hazy orange with nearly no head. Smell is all hops, lots of spruce, pine, and a tiny bit of citrus, maybe also a slight sweetness. Palate is on the thicker side of medium bodied with soem sharp carbonation. Taste is slightly sweet and bitter at first with the sweetness rounding out the bitterness, but then it gives way to a slight different, much strong and longer lasting bitterness. The aftertaste is all bitter and goes on for ages.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml bottle. Really close to a top class beer. Aroma of green apples, squash, cognac and nuts. Clear and sharp and wellbalanced bitterness. Needs time and deserves to be enjoyed like a fine cognac.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a hazy light brown with a medium off white head. Aroma is a nice blend of tropical fruits and malts (there’s some caramel in there somewhere, too). Taste is sweet, creamy malts (almost like milk chocolate) up front and gradually mellowing for an easy finish. The hops are very mild in this one. Different, but very, very good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle, 3.Mar.2012
Slightly hazy amber body, with small head that rapidly diminishes and leaves patchwork on top and glass. Very pleasant and rich aroma, sea, citrus black elder flowers, buttercup, chervil and wet grass after rain. This impression is mirrored also in taste. Very smooth and well balanced. With grilled stockfish dinner @ Arctandria, Tromsø.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy red/orange colour with a thin white head. Quite a bit of sediment- maybe I was too cavalier when pouring... Aroma of toffee, caramel, malt, some hops, alcohol. Taste is sweet with a long duration. Thick oily texture, light carbonation. Ok.
