The bottle I had was from last year and I think the taste improved some and is even tastier than this years batch

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark brown slightly close to a black colored body with a nice soft looking lumpy foamy head that is about two fingers worth, a fair amount of lacing graces the sides of the glass but slides at a reasonable pace; the aroma has coca cola up front with a fair amount of spice involved with this on as I’m gettin’ some gingerbread and some toastiness; the taste is coca cola comes back again in full force with an added sharp roasty pininess, the aftertaste is coca cola-ish with a watery finish; its pretty easy on the palate; overall good herbed/spiced beer for the most part, might be worthy of another pour in small doses

Lots of cinnamon with pepper on the side. It’s a peculiar beer alright. Feels like a porter without the sweetness. Hops are good in the background too. I can feel Christmas coming!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rich thick amber head. Thick texture, thin bubbles and malty taste give a feeling of a stout. Aromas are also light while the color is dark copper. Overall a pleasant beer with some cinnamon hints to enjoy with Xmas biscuits while others have tea.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Spicy and dry with clear taste of mulled wine and a slightly peppery aftertaste. I suspect even a shade of burnt malt. Good!

0,5 l, flaske, 6,5 %, købt i SuperBest i Rødovre Centrum januar 2013, 29. november 2013.
Anden mundfuld lidt bedre. Men ingefæren fylder også for meget i min mund. Smuk etiket! Vinder lidt ved tilvænning, men bliver ikke helt glad.
Mundfølelsen er blød og lækker, let perlende. Betyder afstemt kulsyreindhold. Men lidt underlig, ja.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pours almost black and hazy, with a small tan head. Aromas of gingerbread cookies, Christmassy spices and cough medicine. Taste is very sweet and not much else. Mouthfeel is soft and sticky, very unpleasant.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is one of the best holiday beers I’ve had. Poured slightly colder than their recommended 50 degrees F with a smallish tan, foamy, thick head that settled after a bit and good lace. Color is a very slightly hazy mahogany. Aroma is spicy - clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, others?, malt, toffee. Flavor’s much like nose, tang is up front, followed by a mild bitter which was perfectly complimented by a softness of body. Fairly dry, and spices are not overdone. Body is perfect, ditto carbonation. Finish is like flavor, no off notes at all, and of average length. This is one of the most drinkable of spice beers. Glad it’s in La Crosse!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 23, 2013 500 ml bottle. Ruby color with a small off-white head. The aroma reminds me very much of glögg; I can sense cinnamon, ginger, citrus and nuts. Flavour: light sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour. Medium bodied with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Dry, bitter finish. Not bad!
