COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is infected. Infected by a small single celled monster called Brettanomyces. This little buddy creates amazing funky flavours. Some think the aroma reminds them of a barn yard, others associate it with the smell of wet socks. The little critter is really motivated to work and ferments for months or years. This fermentation results in a high carbon dioxide pressure. So high in fact that the beer comes out of the bottle like a geyser. So make sure to have a glass at hand when you open this.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Kvadrat. Pours hazy golden with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma of Brett, funky barnyard, lemons. Taste is dry and crisp, moderate sour, yet fresh and super drinkable, citrussy and dry end, with some spices at the final, nice.

Bottle from Storo enjoyed at home
This beer is supposed to be a gusher, but it isn’t. And somehow i’m a bit dissappointed, only because the label gave me expectations. Well; some bubbles appeared in the bottle, but it did never leave the bottle. Since i know the history about the old Geysir on Iceland i happen to know that Geysir seldom have eruptions these days. It’s the geysir Strokkur that have eruptions every 8 min or so; so i can accept Geysir as a name if i relate it to THE Geysir. OK, enough about Geysirs.... It pours orange hazy with a massive head. Smells of funk, apples, hints of tart fruits, not as bretty as i expected though bit i like the aromas. Light to moderate sweet, quite dry, bretyy, not very fruity. Some bitter apples and oranges in the finish which appears to be medium bitter. Rarely have i made a minus in the total for a missing gusher, but with a name like this i have no choice. An ok and quite drinkable beer. I think they could have made more out of it when it comes to do a brett beer all the way though.

Cloudtæy pale golden, huuge offwhite head that clings. Aroma of sour apples and champagne. Taste is not as extreme as expected. Though the brett is obviously very appearent. Sour apples, peaches, hoppy and funky.

Bottle from kvadrat. Cloudy pale with think white head. Lemony, brett farmhouse aroma. Not really a geysir but alot of carbonation yes. Dry sour in palate with bretty fizzy flavours. Nice but a little bit boring.

Bottle (50cl) from Vinmonopolet (Storo), Oslo. Not a gusher, despite the warning on the label. Nevertheless, a huge white head, very fluffy, with excellent retention and some impressive lacing. Hazy orange colour. Light body, lively carbonation. Aroma of barnyard, citrus, yeast, hay. Taste is tart, fairly thin, with some residual juicy sweetness and mild bitterness. Citrus-kernel-dry aftertaste.

Bottle at Patricks. Big white head as expected. Not much on the nose, wet lawn, apple, grapefruit? Taste is that funky sour apple/grapefruit with some bitternes. Not much to remember.

Bottle. Like it says on the label it does explode out if the bottle, pity I didn't read it first. It is a golden beer with a strong frothy head. Due to the intended over activeness it is difficult to pour which detracts from the drinking experience. The aroma is dry and grassy and the flavour is deeply bitter with geuze like sourness. Overall reasonable beer with plenty of dryness and different complexities. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Batch #821. ABV is 5%. Not exactly a geyser when opened (which I appreciate), it was actually possible to pour the beer without spilling anything. Hazy golden colour, huge white head. Typical brettanomyces aroma with "farmhouse" notes, also notes of slightly stale lemons. Medium sour flavour, brett galore, quite dry, the finish is spicy and hoppy and fairly bitter. Refreshing, and I like it.

500 ml bottle @ Apotekergården. Practically clear golden with lively carbonation and a big, foamy white head. No gusher whatsoever. Aroma has a mild version of funk/barnyard/Brett/farmhouse with citric fruit and a lemon twist. Flavor is light and refreshing, pale malt, citric acidic fruit and low bitterness. Medium body and refreshing acidic aftertaste. Decent, refreshing, quaffable and pretty light version of a sour beer. Could have some more body and personality here.
