3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
0,5 l bottle bought from Meny Sarpsborg. Pours a thin, dark texture into glass. Initial smell of roast and coffee. First taste confirms this, but the coffee taste eventually wears off and some sweetness kicks in. Low to medium bitterness. Slight watery aftertaste, but overall decent.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle. Clear, very dark amber body with a huge, creamy, long lasting, lacing beige head. Quite mild in aroma, but very promising, dark malt, roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is surprisingly smooth, balanced and tasty for the moderate ABV, dark malt, pleasant roast, coffee, dark chocolate and light but balanced bitterness. Very nice body, surprisingly full bodied consideration the low alcohol. Smooth and tasty, long lasting aftertaste. A really nice session porter. No cooked vegetables here and no nonsense, just straight to the core a very nice porter.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Great with a roasted duck. Tastes like a stronger beer, great balance. With dark chocolate I find it a little on the slim side.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This one starts out really promising with an amazing, sweet, malty, complex and strong aroma of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, chocolate sauce and caramel, with rope and tar in the back. It also looks good, it looks surprisingly viscous for such a low ABV when I pour, the beer has a black body with a small, light-brown, long-lived head that laces the glass well. The flavour is a slightly let-down, its fairly strong, but the lovely chocolatey feel is far less strong and instead its the coffee thats in charge. It also feels quite ashy, and there are some traces of sweet fruits. The taste is light sweet and light to moderate bitter. Its a light-bodied beer with a bit watery texture (so why did it look so thick and viscous?) and moderate carbonation. Enjoyable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
0.5l bottle from #21. Yeah, its quite dark this. As good as black or the least really deep dark brown looking. It also has a nice medium sized light ashy brown top - great retention and some nice lacings as well. The first thing on the nose is bitter dark chocolate and a good amount of dark caramel blended with roasted malts and green banana. Absolute fair, but perhaps a tad untraditional? It has as expected a bit of a thin and near watery mouthfeel wrapped in a soft prickling carbonation level. The taste has dry cocoa, cardboard, lots of rocky minerals and a little bit of nuts also located here. I like the dryness this one gives me. A bit like dry cocoa powder. A faint woody thing also located near the finish. Could be a nice one of only it had some more body and mouthfeel. 01.03.2014
